Couple of pics ... engine going on, and then how it looks currently. I could put the wheels and froutwingstays on now which makes it look more complete, but as Im building it in a single width garage, it takes up far too much space.

@MajorRage Where are you at now?

Too angry / scared to drive the TVR after a drunk, and probably drugged, prick wrote off a car that I loved (not as much as my wife that was in it) but there is a lot to be said for modern cars and our little Golf saved her life last weekend.

Be careful in that thing on the roads bro.

Go like hell on the track though.

@snowy that's no good mate - sorry to hear that but glad to hear the wife is ok.

Just doing the boring stuff now - mechanicals all done. But it's bloody cold here now and rather icy. My daily drive is an M135i and it's bloody scary enough in thst with all the technology, no way I'm taking the cat out for a few months

M135i is a great vehicle, should keep you safe enough - like I ever cared about safety before.

Wife made me take her for a drive in the TVR the other day - rebuilding confidence I guess. Not sure if it was her's or mine!

Cat is looking really good. Love to see some more pics.

    @majorrage That's awesome mate.

While it's not my thing, I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread.

Post a Video with her starting up so we can hear it!

@majorrage you could post it on your FB page (if you have one) or if you have a Youtube account and link it through.

@hooroo I doubt they'd put that up though, some people may actually be interested in it and is unlikely to generate too many clicks from outraged people beings (can I say that?)

And she's finished ... What a labour of love that was. I can't drive it properly yet as it needs to go through the Caterham check, then the government check (IVA), then registered etc. All of this is expected to take around 6-8 weeks, so it should be ready right about when spring is really kicking in. Perfect timing.

I did take it for a quick spin around the block though ... and the front wing fell off! Which I guess is good, as it gives me something else to fiddle around on.

It's been an absolute labour of love, full of swearing, foul language, frustration, irritation and pure anger.

But look at her. Isn't she beautiful. I can't wait to go and hang the arse out.

I'm so stoked for you! Better shit falls off and fixed before the testers find it!

I couldn't do that. Beyond my realms of patience and technical/mechanical nouse... even with instrructions.

@hooroo You'd be surprised fella. Yeah, it's hard and frustrating but it is essentially a much larger form of Lego.

Obviously with more severe implication if you fuck it up.

Probably should have built the Lego version to help get your eye in!

Well, due to various factors involving Australian Flu, An impromptu ski trip, an improptu work trip, UK bureaucracy speeds and it being too fucking freezing to get in the garage and tweak the final things, I've only now got it booked in for the test.

30th May is D-Day, but she leaves my house on the 10th May to begin her final journey to road worthiness! Assuming all goes to plan, will be picked up around mid June, just as the days are 18 hours long here giving me loads of time to run in.

Finished, picked up and gone to go and get road legal ...

Big day! Was nervous last night, barely slept. Like my first kid going off to college!

Great experience building it, would highly recommend it if you like cars, engineering, mechanicals, physics, and doing things with your hands. Also if you like being frustrated, swearing like an absolute motherf**ker, shouting, screaming and having your hands torn to shreds.

But just LOOK at the end result. I always mock people who refer to themselves as Mummy or Daddy of their animals ... so I should certainly mock myself for being like that around a car. But not just any car. My car. Which I built my fucking self!!
