Cranberries will always have a special place in my heart in that in my first year in Uni I managed to land a perfect 10 chick in my quan study group. All because I lied about loving the Zombie song and she was a massive fan. To be honest I used to get the Cranberries and Garbage confused all the time. But I mananged to get my bullshit straight enough to get the job done.
Thanks Dolores.
Garbage are probably THE most appropriately named group of all time.

Turning on your fellow porridge wog, shame on you.
Shirley Manson seemed very cool on her Joe Rogan podcast.

@mn5 Shirley Manson could do her herself up pretty good though. That video for Cherry Lips was hot and you saw nothing (literally)
Actually that's not a bad tune either.
@jegga Scottish music is about as good as it's cuisine.

now that story, right there, had more real passion, heart, and meaning than every other "soundtrack of my youth" posts i've been seeing.
Fuck off they were. You belted out their radio songs and haven't actively listened to them in 20 years. fuck off.
Zombie is a shit track
One of their most popular, but one of my least favourite

@mariner4life Holy shit the production on that track is bad. Is sounds so limp and generic.

Jegga: 'do you mind if I interrupt you there Neil while I tell everyone I know I am having coffee with you? We can resume our conversation in a few minutes'......
Jegga: 'sorry about that, please continue with your stories. Oh, hang on again, someone doesn't believe me, won't take a minute'

Good riddance. Zero musical ability and a wife beater.
Mark E. Smith, leader of the British post-punk band the Fall, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for allegedly choking, punching and kicking the band's keyboard player, Julie Nagle, who is also the singer's girlfriend.

Been listening to a National Radio podcast series on Split Enz over the last week or so (great stuff if you have any interest)
They make it pretty clear that they were totally over playing I got you - even at the time - and that it cost them because they were just over it.
They have a bit of disdain for their pop success and really liked the improve of performing live and wanted to re-create that sound on their albums.
I saw the whole Finn clan perform at Akl Zoo a couple of years ago and they brought out all the hits along with covers and some less known stuff like Hit the Road in Rarotonga.
can confirm Elroy is bloody good.

Just read the news. Very sad. One-of-a-kind. Mark E. had been performing the past year with a gastly grapefruit sized tumour-or-something on his forehead, which had many fans concerned, rightly so. Had the pleasure of seeing him, oooooh, about 25 years ago. He will definitely be missed. Even by ex-band members who he used to punch out, I am sure. R.I.P. (Will have to look for the old video where he was giving EPL scores on a Saturday national tv program.)
