In regards to tests, they want an all rounder at 6. Neesham/Anderson haven't come off so Santner bats there. Santner is a better batsman than Sodhi. I think Sodhi will be seen more in the future but didn't do a great job with taking his opportunities at the start of his career.
Amazing that Sodhi hasn't played IPL so far.
I'd prefer someone who has actually scored at least a 50 in the shorter forms of the game to be referred to as an 'all rounder' but that's just me.

No one has ever scored a century from number 8. Klusner's tons mostly came as a pinch hitter I think.
Not that that excuses the fact that Santner has shown bugger all to match the 'all-rounder' hype.
