So did you ask him to join your next breakfast date with the All Blacks?

Mark E Smith of The Fall has fallen.

Not a big fan of their output but he was certainly pushing a few ideas and breaking ground.

Good riddance. Zero musical ability and a wife beater.

Mind you, Donald Fagen hit his wife too, so I shouldn't get too excited. He's a great song writer though.

Been listening to a National Radio podcast series on Split Enz over the last week or so (great stuff if you have any interest)

They make it pretty clear that they were totally over playing I got you - even at the time - and that it cost them because they were just over it.

They have a bit of disdain for their pop success and really liked the improve of performing live and wanted to re-create that sound on their albums.

I saw the whole Finn clan perform at Akl Zoo a couple of years ago and they brought out all the hits along with covers and some less known stuff like Hit the Road in Rarotonga.

can confirm Elroy is bloody good.

@rocky-rockbottom Yeah, I'm not sure I'd describe that as "soul".

Just read the news. Very sad. One-of-a-kind. Mark E. had been performing the past year with a gastly grapefruit sized tumour-or-something on his forehead, which had many fans concerned, rightly so. Had the pleasure of seeing him, oooooh, about 25 years ago. He will definitely be missed. Even by ex-band members who he used to punch out, I am sure. R.I.P. (Will have to look for the old video where he was giving EPL scores on a Saturday national tv program.)

ha, I rememebr that, did it very respectfully too, must(ve been thrilled to bits. Didnt even shoehorn in a "West London Chelsea Proletariat Dog Breeders 1, Newcastle the North will Rise Again, nil"

Didnt even bite when he was intro'd as a City fan, pretty sure I read he's lifelong M.United

ps had to make a tombstone, this will make NO SENSE if you dont have the albums and even less sense if you do

It's hoing into my earlier (not quite earliest) recollections of the All Blacks.

Makes me sad that these guys aren't immortal.

And now Bevan Congdon has gone too. Our first test-winning captain, caught behind 1 run short of 80.
