@snowy I think a lot of fans would be pretty tense when 2/2 chasing 330+

Maybe we just like to get on the front foot with our angst πŸ™‚ does make eating the winning pie so much more nom nom nom!!

"The leaves used by Naholo's uncle, the village doctor, to mend the star rugby winger's fractured fibula are from a plant called kawakawarau, a version of which – kawakawa - grows abundantly in the New Zealand bush and is still used by Maori healers to treat ailments ranging from rheumatism to gonorrhoea."

Anyone got Rossco's number? I have no comment about the other things Kawakawa may remedy but we need him fit to play.

Handy then if you book a night in with Lisa Lewis

Or Candice Warner according to some.

Actually have to tell myself off for that one, she's probably really nice - just has poor taste in men.

Ross Taylor: KFC and 1984 Penfolds Grange for birthday lunch. Can he do anything better?

So are we fucked if Taylor can”t play?

In short when Rossco plays and scores his century we win.

Someone else will need to stand up - looking at you Munro and Guptill.

If we can keep our review for Kane instead of wasting it on a pinch hitter that'll give us a fighting chance.

@bovidae Certainly a major loss, but we really should've won the previous game with Rossco missing (and lost this one) so balancing the ledger a bit.

I'd say Rossco missing makes England favourites between two well-matched teams, but we can certainly overcome that.

England does seem to have worked Munro out, though.

Beautiful day in Chch, a bit chilly currently but no rain by the looks. Stuff reporting The Moral Captain ruled out so Chapman better come right quickly. And Munro. Fuck.

Note to BCs top and middle order batsmen not named Guptill or Kane

Munro gets a top edge and an easy out. Shame because he wasn't looking for a slog. Out for a duck

Run rate is rubbish but we're only one down still. Guppy and Kane both at 50% SR so they better stay long enough to correct that

I don't think Chapman or Nicholls have the temperament to handle English pressure today

50/2 in the 16th over. Poor start but not a complete disaster. We really need these two to bat to 35+ overs though so plenty of work to be done.
