    Enjoyed Death Wish.

    But hopefully one and done.

    WTF! Another remake?

I remember doing a marathon session of Death Wish 1, 2 and 3 in the late 1980s. Charles Bronson was up there with Arnie and Sly back then. I haven't seen any of them since.

A mate's relatives owned a video store so we used to get out heaps of videos to watch over a weekend, particularly movies we weren't legally able to watch at the cinema.

Charles Bronson was undeniably cool but by golly he did some crap movies.

Many of the greats did a whole lotta crap movies. Marlon Brando and Elvis Presley, to name a pair. And it wouldn’t have mattered if Bronson had only ever made crap movies except for one, when that ONE is Once Upon A Time In The West, for that role alone his place in cinematic immortality is cemented.

Damn right. He also did the Great Escape and Hard Times which were great yarns. But I've also lost count of the amount of late night crap I've seen him star in.

@salacious-crumb And The Magnificent Seven and The Great Escape.

@MN5 The 1980s were full of shitty action movies but they were fun to watch at the time.

    Movies Watched on the plane:

Molly's Cleavage. Great story, well told. Jessica Chastain's chest was wonderful in the lead role. Idris Elba is just so fucking cool.
4 slutty "waitresses" out of 5 problem gamblers

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Geezers can become king by doing gangster shit apparently. owright geez? Guy Richie can only make one kind of movie apparently, the subject matter doesn't really matter. Far more "names" in this than i was expecting. But it was gangster movie with swords, some bullshit magic, and some bad CGI. Still, i was entertained.
2.5 really big fuck-off elephants out of 5 hot murdered family members

Stratton: the fuck is this shit? Who the fuck makes a movie about a dude from the Special Boat Service? That also apparently take the lead on intelligence assignments? It was trying to be Strike Back, but lacked the depth... You fucking cast Draco Malfoy and expect us to be surprised he's a double agent? Connie Neilsen is hot, and that pretty much covers every positive thing about this movie. If i wasn't 7 hours in to a flight, and had a few beers, this would have got shit-canned waaaay earlier.
1 dead partner no one cared about out of 5 "like fuck you swam 300m underwater with barely a full breath as fast as you could" (and that's in the first 5 minutes). Avoid.

@mariner4life SBS are pretty bad ass...the character is based on a series by Duncan Falconer (who, ex SBS writes in the same vein as Chris Ryan, whose book Strike Back was based on) but yeah, movie wasn't great, which was a shame as I have read a few of his books and was hoping it would be better, much better.

    BUt yeah, Chastains cleavage 😍

Didn't know that he had another book out, will have to get that. Stalingrad is a great read.

This guy doesn't like Saving Private Ryan. His opinion is worthless to me.

He likes the D-Day scenes, but thinks the rest of the film is pants. I agree with him

Tbf he said the opening sequence was one of the most realistic portrayals of war on film.

Yeah his criticisms of it are fair now I read his review in a less triggered frame of mind.

    Still an amazing flick though.

forgot to mention when I was writhing in pain the other night at 2am I watched Cargo on Netflix.

I liked it, also seeing Martin Freeman in a different light, he has done a number of roles where I struggled to see past Bilbo and the bumbling fool in Fargo, but shows he is a good actor.

All I see is him in The Office

really good at making history in to a story you can relate to on a personal level.

Interesting article that. Although i did hear a little to much of my know-it-all father-in-law in it (i have stopped watching movies with him. this is a man who was banned from a history forum for being too argumentative)
