forgot to mention when I was writhing in pain the other night at 2am I watched Cargo on Netflix.
I liked it, also seeing Martin Freeman in a different light, he has done a number of roles where I struggled to see past Bilbo and the bumbling fool in Fargo, but shows he is a good actor.
All I see is him in The Office

Antony Beevor: the greatest war movie ever – and the ones I can't bear
Didn't know that he had another book out, will have to get that. Stalingrad is a great read.
really good at making history in to a story you can relate to on a personal level.
Interesting article that. Although i did hear a little to much of my know-it-all father-in-law in it (i have stopped watching movies with him. this is a man who was banned from a history forum for being too argumentative)

Yeah his criticisms of it are fair now I read his review in a less triggered frame of mind.
Still an amazing flick though.
You have to excuse some artistic licence I reckon. Unlike many films they didn't make out that the little band of men singlehandedly win the war

I wonder what he made of Band of Brothers?

I don't think he'd be a fan of Commando despite it clearly being based on a true story.

anyone not a fan of Commando is obviously mentally deficient. Clearly the pinnacle of 80s action, if not action full stop.

The realism is what gets me. Muscle Bound guys standing in the middle of a garden will always defeat multiple enemies hiding behind trees and walls.

Funny how Arnie could spray the area with his M60 and kill all those guys trying to shoot him....

Or the chick with the massive cans during the Matrix/Cook punch up.
Cook shoulda been the main baddie, not gay Bennett.

How would you seperate Commando or Predator if in a cruel world you had to chose only 1 to watch..

Choose or die I would have to go Predator as that was so unique at the time.
My fall back from missing out on Commando would have been Rambo so I would still be happy.
I sill love the "Murdock! I'm coming for you!!"
