I thought this was going to be a pile of shit but I actually quite enjoyed it. Mindless comedy as per most Seth Rogan novies but some funny stuff in there, and anything that mercilessly mocks the NK regime is worth producing.

I've contributed to the discussion by up-voting the hell out of anyone pimping Commando as the greatest action flick ever. I had my "Arnie" VHS of movies I recorded off Sky and Commando was my favourite of the lot. An absolute classic in every sense of the word.
I was in Malaysia years ago, strolling the market. Ending up buying a few pirate DVDs, as you do, and one of them was Commando!! CF Jnr is 7, might be time to spring it on him soon

Last Action Hero holds up.
Rambo First Blood should have been in Beevor's list. Still one of my all time favourite movies. As relevant today as it was then.
Possibly more so.

But I also think the movies have changed a lot, some seem to take themselves seriously as real movies instead of what they are, action films.
No surprise that movies like John Wick are successes cos its just sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride, storyline is secondary to body count.

The Rock is good. Can play all sorts of roles, can be funny too. He was great in Jumanji
Yep the Rock is a natural successor to Arnie. Another who is a very surprisingly good actor is Bautista. He was very 'method' in Blade Runner 2.
Mind you, the bar for wrestlers turned actors wasn't particularly high. I challenge any of you to find a worse movie trailer than this....

Arguably Willis is a poor mans Willis now - Liam is the grandfather of the geriatric action stars. I want to see a Keanu, Denzel, Liam Wick/Taken/Equalizer crossover where they join up to beat the shit out of everyone!
