Didn't they do something to a german field hospital on their way through? I remember reading something about s kiwi officer being caught and questioned about it.

The old bugger I did some work for that was in that battle died about two years ago he said one time " we were pretty relieved when we found out Freyberg wasn't in charge that night, he thought we enjoyed that sort of thing as much as he did, I can assure you we didn't ".

Thanks for Sharing - Tim Robbins, Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow and Pink, although I reckon best in this film was Josh Gad as a Dr who has some serious issues and befriends Pink who turns up at one of the addiction meetings.

Basically about Ruffalo who is a recovering sex addict and his relationship with his 'sponsor' Robbins, who has his own secrets, with Gads character wanting Ruffalo as his sponsor.

IMDB says it is a comedy/drama, but not alot of funny stuff TBH, decent enough watch if you were in the right mood I expect.

edit; a couple of random booby shots, and also a bit of a fine looking Paltrow in lingerie.

There's still lots of debate about what happened. There wasn't actually a hospital where the breakout occurred as it was on the frontlines, but there were ambulances and wounded men who hadn't been evacuated before nightfall. The NZers claim that the Germans were playing dead and then shooting them when they'd gone past, some German's (and historians) claimed that they were just butchered. I think the German's were most annoyed by the fact that some of the dead had multiple stab wounds but the NZ consensus is that two battalions followed each other (19 and 20 IIRC) and both were fighting their way through. The general was Brigadier Clifton I think and he was the one who mentioned the German soldiers playing dead and then shooting to Rommel.

The battalion histories on both sides tend to support the NZ view.

The old bugger's description of Freyberg doesn't match with any of the written accounts of him from what I recall.

I think he was trying to make the point that Freyberg was a brave bugger and a professional soldier whereas old Bruce was a post office employee from Lower Hutt who was very keen to get home in one piece . The truck he was travelling in that night broke down and he reckoned he never been afraid as he was trying to flag down another .

This mentions the aid station http://www.willsonscott.biz/breakouttellsthetruth

Rush - pretty good movie, had heard great things about it, and it didnt disappoint, although wasnt enough of Olivia Wilde in it 😉 but you can always count on the unusual looking Natalie Dormer to get her kit off.

Ha ha, nah I decided it was better to remove those particular (and particularly) drunk posts. Cracked up at Kirwan's posts and the other responses. "Rocky" is alright except for some strained muscles, and bruises/scrapes on his knuckles.

The Wolf of Wall Street: Directed by Martin Scorcese and starring Leo and Jonah Hill.

ATTN M4L: There is tits and ass for Africa, and bush (and no bush either). You will be in heaven.

The lead chick is possibly the most enchanting actress I have seen in years. I have since discovered she is one of M4Ls people, an Australian, called Margot Robbie and apparently she was in Neighbours ... I should have watched Neighbours. And yes, she does get her norks out, and yes they're excellent.

Ok, now that my heart rate has gone down a bit. Great film, essentially it can be boiled down to Leo, drugs, tits, stocks, repeat. It's the story of a guy who started selling penny stocks and follows his rise and fall. The final scene is set in NZ (not really a spoiler) and have possibly the three worst NZ accents I have ever heard on film.

Just got back from Philomena , it was pretty good but very sad too. The Catholic Church comes out of it very badly . As you'd expect Judi Dench was excellent and Steve Coogan who I always thought was a bit of a tool was very good. He shagged Courtney Love a few years ago apparently , I'm surprised he still alive.

Breast count of zero thank fuck .

The new Hobbit flick - had a couple of vouchers, so took the boy to Gold Class yesterday.

As with the last one, once you put aside purist tendencies and DON'T expect a faithful recreation of the book, its a great ride. And in fact, those purists calling for Jackson's head should probably get fucked, as the book was quite compressed and breezed through several events. I think he's done a pretty good job overall.

Bad bits: Beorn - the fact that Gandalf mentioned straight up he was a skinchanger gave me the shits.

Also, these dwarves can fucking carve up a bunch of orcs while floating in barrels down a river, but can't beat them face-to-face in someone's house? Get fucked. I'm a dwarf fan, so I get the shits when people use them as edit: comical plot devices instead of what they actually are: tough-as-nails grumpy fluffybunnys who can take a pounding and march for days then go kick some arse in battle. Elves get the good treatment, dwarves get the short-stupid-human treatment.

Evangeline Lilly is fit as fuck. Dragon was good. They're going to need to do a bit of work fixing Erebor once they kill his silly arse though.

I struggled to see what the elaborate plot of trying to bury a dragon in molten gold was meant to achieve. No dwarf would attempt any of that shit, knowing dragons are basically fireproof.

Finally got round to seeing Gravity on the big screen and have to say I thought it was ace.

Yes the science is hokey, but I can't remember the last time a film had me squirming in my seat like that. I'm now seeing if I can can catch it at an Imax just for the full effect.

Thought Bullock and Clooney were great. Surprised at Bullock in particular - didn't think Miss Congeniality could be that good. I had assiduously avoided all critiques and reviews and although I knew the basics I had no real idea what the outcome might be. Some people might say we still don't know ...

All in all, I thought it was breathtaking. Easily 5 stars for me. Maybe the joyless debunking from astro-nerds might lessen it a bit in time, but for now it's easily the best space movie I've seen.

    Astro-nerds can go fuck themselves.

While waiting for the Taipans game last night I flicked through the usual B-grade Friday night movie fare and ended up watching "Eight Legged Freaks". It's so awesomely bad I enjoyed it. at least they knew they were making a b movie and didn't take anything seriously. Spiders are gross.

Noticed the main chick was pretty hot, but didn't really remember seeing her in anything else. Her IMDB page is littered with b movie badness (and more than a few spider movies) and a quick Google search showed she has no hang ups about getting her kit off. Good girl.
