He's not using his right arm in an attempt to tackle or push, it's raised because of the combined action of sprinting over and bracing for impact.

Bullshit decision but totally expected. I did laugh at the fact the NRL 'prosecutor' was meant to come up with ways that Billy should have effected the tackle. I guess that was part of the lawyers strategy, put the onus on the NRL to provide a 'viable' alternative so they could poke holes in it.

Nah, I'd rather they lose the game at the death in rare and humiliating fashion. Shades of Billy handing us the World Cup?

Anyone on here knows I'm not the biggest Billy Slater fan but his bodycheck on Sosaia Feki is actually not that much different to a number of try saving tackles Roger Tuivasa-Sheck made this season on the goalline for the Warriors. And he is probably going to win the Dally M Medal tonight for it.

But, I wonder, if it was flipped around and Feki did that tackle on Slater whether he too would have got off?

We all know the answer to that.

Narrative decision, but in my eyes the common sense one.

Can both these teams lose in gut wrenching circumstances?

Comedy gold on the TV news tonight when Waerea-Hargreaves was complaining about getting away with a shoulder charge.

Definitely common sense, but only if it is an Australian star player in the dock.
If it’s a Kiwi at the judiciary during the finals, a suspension is a foregone conclusion, especially if there is a test just around the corner.

NRL: ‘Look Billy, we have to be seen to be impartial and doing the right thing here or we’ll have a shit storm on our hands, and lord knows we already have enough of those throughout the year. We’re going to have to book you and put you in front of the judiciary. But don’t worry, you’ll be playing. How about you bring Craig along just to make it a bit more believable. Good lad.

BILLY: ‘Sure thing, but you fuckers are paying for the best lawyer in the business to turn up, I don’t want to look like a cheap c$&t.’

    RTS wins the Dally M.

Jazz Tevaga won the interchange player of the year.

    Fusitua was top try scorer.

Nice work RTS. Inspirational stuff and could have easily have won captain of the year too.

Fusitua for me was the winger of the year not only the try scorer.

Tevaga is a very good bench player but given his penchant for loose carries and penalties I was surprised he won.

Good night for the Warriors. Fusitua definitely unlucky not to get best winger, but as much as I’m not a fan, Ferguson did have a damn good year.

RTS held the emotions in well during the haka from Luke, Tevaga and Rapana.

How cringeworthy were other parts of the awards though. Sam Thaidays ode was awkward as fark

Seem to be universally accepted here in OZ that RTS was deserving of the award. Surprisingly no negative comments to be found anywhere.

TBF, they've always loved RTS over here.

It was also obvious to all the Aussie media that RTS was in sublime form for much of the season, not only on attack but more importantly on defence. There would have been controversy if his two main rivals in the points system won because Kalyn Ponga and Luke Brooks weren't on the same level as RTS this season.

    It should have been:

    1. RTS (Warriors)
    2. Nathan Cleary (Panthers)
    3. Damian Cook (Bunnies)

Ponga was good but I think there was far too much love (and hype) for him this year. I like the kid but I did see a couple of comments in the media saying ‘what if’ because he got injured.
