I thought she was all over down 24-10. Did not see that coming.

Sensational final try. Faiane - talk about leading from the front. Trainor very tidy off the bench too. It's no coincidence the change in result from last game when those two were playing this week.

Somewhat concerning Auckland have been outplayed 3 weeks in a row. Still - I think that books a semi final berth so everything from now on is a bonus really given pre-season expectations.

Ben Lam got horribly stepped by Faiane on the way to his first try.

    About 1:40 into this video:

Been absolutely shit tonight. Not sure what he's doing in the team.

We are developing him. He is gaining 'learnings'
Why we are developing an England u20's rep who is currently contracted to Wasps is hard to understand.

He should not start at fullback again.

However we should start him at 10 against Southland. Unfortunately he is the only fit backup ten in the squad and he needs more game time there before the semis

We need to start Choat the same reason. He's the only genuine backup 7 and has only had a handful of minutes

@steven-harris He was injured for part of this year wasn't he?

Long term I think Papali'i will be at six, so Choat just needs to wait for the inevitable Gibson injury..

You referring to Umaga, Steven? If this is true, they shouldn't select him at all. Let him look at other options. Why are we developing him for England anyway? Our main priority should be to our players and we also have a duty to help develop the PI players.

Edit: Looks like you were talking about Choat.

I think he's referring to Adrian Choat, the young Auckland loose forward.

Really noticeable the amount of walking around by Welly players in that second half.

A brilliant individual effort by TJ against tiring defence. Good support by Trainor. One of the tries of the comp I reckon.

how fast did Trainor look? Just came from nowhere - looked like everyone else was jogging

    Fark it, I'm goign there.

THIS IS A CONSPIRACY. WAKE UP SHEEPLE. TIATIA AND ALAMA ARE IN THE POCKETS OF BIG RUGBY. THEY ARE ONLY THERE TO HELP WELLINGTON.

Ther eis precedent for this with Dingo and then Mike sorting out the Aussies for us. This is not a conspiracy. This is real. WAKE UP.

Quoting myself, but clearly there is a second major conspiracy at work here. I shall endeavour to get to the bottom of it, but if I disappear, you know the truth is out there. Clearly the only logical conclusion is that my mentioning the conspiracy meant that they had to cancel it. So, all Auckland fans can thank me later.

@nzzp If Trainor misses a super contract for next year he should try out for NZ sevens. His pace and step would suit that game I think.

That Welly No 8 looked very reminiscent of Vito from what I saw in the highlights.

He looks a bit bigger this season.

Does he have the organisation skills to play fullback at that next level yet? Still quite young and I reckon his time will come at the next level but he might have to play some wing.

One guy who hasn't been mentioned but had a massive game was Marcel Renata. He's been good all season, but was exceptional in this game. Hopefully the Blues have already gotten his signature.

Was good to see all the bench players making positive contributions when they came on. Also smart move by the coaches to not bring Clarke and Sotutu on because we needed experience out there to finish this game.
