@machpants I think if we had settled on a #1 mid-field it would not be as big of an issue.

We have quality options there, but did we play the same duo in any game this year (injury obviously played it's part)

Nah not replaced, improved on! Does anyone see an improvement in ABs from those that left 2015 to now? Not that I see in 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14 (NMS to BFA), or 15 (BFA to DMac) - 11 is debatable, Jules was great vs France, and good through RWC but not as good over the year.

well of course we haven't. Nor are we likely to. With regards to their standings in the pantheon of NZ rugby

well, yea, we know that. But in all honesty only 7 & 10 are nailed on World GOATs.

Low key 9 at that point of his career was probably the least divisive selection at that position we've had in my lifetime.

Key takeaways from All Blacks 'testing' 2018

After winning their first five Tests of 2018 comfortably, the All Blacks ran into some true contests at the back 2018. So what's to be learned, particularly following fierce battles with South Africa, England and Ireland? Craig Dowd investigates.

12 too IMO, as his allround game was complimented by being an absolute fucking beast that would give the opposition nightmares trying to tackle.

We've lost someone else now: Fear Factor.

Is that Max Factor's sister btw? Maybe we'll get her back now that Ma'ascara is back in town ...

@booboo so he is admitting that he feared us previously?

The legacy you face is more intimidating than any opposition...

At least we still got our legacy! Or did someone take that too? 😞

Cheers, funny. maybe that's why he's so good in open field rugby, he's very real without pretense or overthinking, simple and nice, plays naturally.

    Aura has gone missing again.

Been found by Rattue in the Herald.

Am neither opening the story or posting a link.

Aura's on a long vacation, off sightseeing in parts of the globe where they don't traditionally play Rugby. Here's hoping her travels take her to Japan in October.

@booboo Feel awful saying this, but I thought it was very good piece by Rattue.

His sentence about other countries not having NZ's playing talent, but their national sides being much better organised rings true.
