Just tried Yeastie Boys 2013 PKB remix. PKB is a favorite but this was a bit insipid. Probably also not aged well.
Now on Hop Federation American Brown Ale. Quite tasty. I do like brown ales being a malt over hops fan.
Btw the basic looking liquor store at Ohakune has a little treasure trove in their beer chiller. An unexpected find and a bonus on a day the ski field isn't open.

Emerson's Pilsner. Nice drop, pretty light, with a delicate, fruity hop flavour. While crisp, lacked flavour from both the malt and the hops. Could drink a few.

Autumn/'fall' here on the East Coast, which means it's time for pumpkin everything, especially pumpkin beer. One of my locals has five different pumpkin beers on tap.

For those in NZ, watch out for Rennaisance Brewing's Great Punkin' in the autumn (I have seen some around at the moment, but would only buy it from places where it has obviously sat in a chiller since purchase (then let it come up to a better temp). As per some of the beers discussed above, a seasonal brew sitting in a warm supermarket runs risk of spoil.

Little Creatures pilsner. Quite pleasant, nothing special. I'm at an airport, I'm tired, and that's all I can manage. Thank you and good night.

Yeah, I do. Just look for 'Alister'. Think there's a bottle of Coopers in my profile pic.

There's a new bar near my office that has 24 craft beers on tap. 🙂 Pricey though (4 to 6 euro for a half pint).

Had both the Underall session IPA's from To Øl, and the Evil Twin smoked pilsner. Pleasant but nothing special.

Rooie Dop session ale.

Dutch craft brew, 5% alc. three hop pale ale.

Very nice. Had three of these, followed by a can of the shitty local French Heineken (all that was left in the fridge). My god that is awful muck.

I find Heineken the most hit and miss beer out there. I've had the odd ripper one but for the main I find it a bit nasty. Stella on the other hand always tastes the same to me.

But the stella fear the next day sometimes isn't worth the indulgence the night before

The NZ Heineken is completely different to the stuff you get in most countries. It's generally a fairly pleasant, though bland, pilsner. The shit you get here is dreadful.

I have found German brewed Becks here on occasion. The difference between that and what Lion brew under license is quite noticeable. As expected, the German stuff tastes better. May be down to the difference in hops and water perhaps.

I have been drinking a lot of 4 Pines, local craft beer in Manly. The Kolsch is definitely my go to summer sip. But I have always been a stout fan and there's is a dark rich coffee/bitter chocolate beauty

Quite normal though, in the UK the difference between locally brewed (in particular Stella and Grolsch, but others too, Becks, Kronenburg, Orangeboom) and imported was huge, obviously when brewed locally the localised ingredients, but dare I say they also er towards the way local beers are made?

I dislike Stella from anywhere other than Belgium.
