Dark Tourist
As if we need more evidence of how fucked up the world is!!
Great series, while there were some mental sites Farrier visited (not all strictly tourist sites) reckon the Yanks with thier almost worship of Manson, Dahmer and tours on the JFK Assassination take it the fucked up tourist award...although selfies with the mummified Grandmother was on another level.

I gave 'The Fix' a go. It's a new game show hosted by Jimmy Car and 4 American comedians.
Started off well though it did feel a little scripted, by the second episode it degenerated entirely into:
Social justice good.
Orange man bad.
Open borders great.
White people bad.
...and so forthThe propaganda couldn't be any more thinly veiled.

Let's see...
The Innocent Man - Netflix doco series representation of John Grisham's only non fiction book, about some dodgy convictions in Ada, USA. Really good actually, interesting stuff.
Murder Mountain - Netflix doco series about Humboldt County and the goings on there with the rise of Cannabis production. Really good again.
The ABC Murders - Malkovich stars as Poirot. Another good watch, keeps ya guessing.
La Mante - French series on Netflix about a son being reunited with his imprisoned mother when a copycat pops up recreating her murderous rampage from 25 years earlier. Probably the best of the lot, highly recommend.
Just started Escape at Dannemora. Looking promising. Benicio del Toro stars alongside Patty Arquette.
Also been watching some Brokenwood Mysteries. It's neat eh! Or am I just being nostalgic?

Fascinating book. If even half of what he asserted was true the convictions were as dodgy as all fuck.

Also check out (the book) 'The Dreams of Ada'.

Recently watched the 6-part mini series "Waco" on the whole Branch Davidian fiasco.
Apparently based on 2 books, one from a survivor, and one from the hostage negotiator.
It's pretty sympathetic to those two parties as a result, while the tac guys are made out to be inhuman assholes.
Religious sect people are fucking demented.
Taylor Kitsch is actually really good in it.

In the last week binged watched all of the first season of Titans - the live action version of Teen Titans. Could not be more different from the cartoon. Very, very dark and violent. Lots of graphic violence and death. First half of the series was like the entire of the reboot of Lost in Space - one long extended pilot, setting everything up for the future. I thought DC's Gotham was dark, but this goes a few steps beyond that. I'll be watching the next series.
A spinoff of the introduced Doom Patrol characters is due out this year as well

Manhunt - ITV drama based on the Memoirs of Colin Sutton, the detective in charge of the unit that caught serial killer Levi Bellfield. Really good, watch it (especially if after the recent NZ activity you are looking for a reason to hate Pikeys even more).
-
Ray Donovan
Consistently the best show I watch each season. -

Sex Education . Best opening scene ever.
Gillian Anderson looks good at 51 and theres a chick whos like a filthier version of Margot Robbie. For community service, what @jegga should have made clearer here is that the opening scenes contain decent shots of a rather nice pair.

Finished Castle Rock, set in Stephen KIngs world and starts in Shawshank PRison.
Started off well and was promising until about episode 6, where it seems to get a bit messy, then meandered along to episode 8 that was a pointless exercise, episode 9 gave me renewed hope then the final one was a bit meh...I see there is a 2nd season in the offing too, not sure I'll bother though.

Finished watching Magic Mountain. Started good and really fizzled towards the end. Could have been a couple of episodes shorter.
Started watching The Innocent Man. One episode in and it's got me hooked.
-
@antipodean What's Magic mountain, I did a search and could only find a 90s Aussie/Chinese kids show.

Ahh, I meant Murder Mountain. Dope growing in Humboldt County, California.
