Reminds me of when I use to deliver pizzas listening to punk music in the car. My delivery rate per hour was always well ahead of everyone else

Youtube and podcasts have revolutionised training for me. Exercising brain and body at the same time. I reckon that's partly why I wasn't so motivated in swimming

Was a bit of a zombie yesterday (these 4:30 starts are killing me) but somehow managed a leg workout and evening swimming. Sore as hell today though. Swimming had alot of pull bouy so the arms copped an absolute pounding. Will attempt a back workout later today but will be a bit ginger.
Will say it again for the nth time. Swimming is the bomb. Bizarrely my coach asked me if I wanted to compete in some races (50 free, I'm a joke at everything else). It's so weird. At 40 I'm becoming the person I wish I was at 16-17. I don't know whether to be happy about that or depressed about the wasted time. I'd like to say I had a rip-roaring time of it in my youth but I didn't really. Ah well, at least I can be a good example for my kids.

Saturday swim session was awesome in its hellishness. Max efforts for 25 then medicine ball lunges (holding above head then squat and twist to each side) along the length of the pool and back. Got through it OK but felt fully wrecked afterwards and on Sunday. The other adults were totally destroyed. Felt sorry for them. They rib me for wanting to be first etc but that really has nothing to do with it. The coach asks for max effort and that's what I give him. We're not there to fark around.
Went out Sat night so no chance of training on Sunday. Back to swimming this morning. Wasn't too bad. Plenty of max efforts. One of the ladies was in pain just putting her flippers on. Lunges are nasty!

Tue: Chest and shoulders. Kind of felt I haven't been giving the chest my full attention, so blasted it. Feeling the good pain the next day.
Wed: Am: Legs. Not much time, but did the job. PM: swimming. Bastard coach decides to do max effort kickboards. I farking hate that and it didn't help having smashed the legs in the morning. Wasn't a big fan of the warmup either: 3x100m - breath every 3rd stroke for 1st 25, then every 5th, 7th, then 9th. But got through it all.Thursday: Back. Not bad at all.
There is talk about Thursday night swimming is well so hope it happens. 4 times a week would be gold.

@Rancid-Schnitzel I always thought swimming would hit chest pretty hard... or is that more down to the style of stroke etc?

It does, but certainly more for breaststroke and butterfly. But you just don't smash the chest in the same way as when you lift heavy (for me) tin.

I've just done a rapid 1500m swim in my lunch hour and my tits hurt like i am going through puberty. So maybe i am doing it wrong (my lats fucking hurt too though)

So Friday arms. Bicep workout is absolutely perfect. Unfortunately a bit of tennis elbow is occurring so had to drop overhead tricep extensions (which IMHO are the best tri workout). Hopefully get rid of that soon.
Saturday: Swimming. Fooking tough.
Sunday: Run. Not so tough. Swimming making it very easy even with a few intervals. Was farking hot though. Sweating like a bitch.
Monday: Swimming. This was a bloody tough session and had to take a moment when finished. 6 Max efforts each for 25m, 30m and 50m. Drilled. -

15 days! Fook!
As mentioned, have been having a few issues with tennis elbow and decided to take a break from any arm training last week. Wasn't a happy camper. Did a couple of big runs and leg training, but it just can't replace the swimming and tin lifting. Back into it on Monday and much happier. Elbow not perfect but not bothering me. Will probably have to address it sometime down the track though.Can't bang on enough about this swimming. The farking bomb. Still struggle with serious volume though. Don't know how these fuckers do multiple kms without stopping.

Tuesday: Fine hammerage of the shoulders.
Wednesday: Swimming. 2.5km. Buggered but great workout. Good mix.
Thursday: Chest and biceps. Very nice. -

Was supposed to go up in a hot air balloon on Sunday for the gf's 40th but were told while standing in front of the balloon that it was too windy. Apparently we were in a bad air balloon paddock because there were about 5 other balloons in the sky. Was bloody annoying because we had to get up at 4 and then get a mini bus for 30min. Not sure if it was the lack of sleep or something I'd contracted previously but felt like death that night and felt hungover the next day. Didn't stop me from stupidly doing swimming the next day. Got through it OK but felt like utter shit shortly thereafter. Nothing worse than having hangover symptoms without the drinking.
Felt bit better yesterday and cranked out a good shoulder session but was up far too late with work and am feeling a bit worse for wear now. Swimming tonight which will test my resolve.The idiotic thing about all this is that my eldest commented on my abs this morning. So I take a week off, get sick, eat shit for two days, and the abs get more defined? That's so retarded. The body is a strange strange beast.

This thread has suddenly become more than @Paekakboyz @JK and sometimes @MN5 with the occasional influx due to talk of dps and Tinder!
Training going OK, but more importantly I've become a believer in the healing qualities of Tumeric (or more specifically Curcumin). That stuff is really farking good. I've also been told that blended beetroot is great as a pre-workout drink. Will get some of that tonight.
