Fuck Keto, Fark Intermittant fasting...sure that shit works but doesnt have to be as structured or as complex as that.
You're a big boy Rob so will never be super light but the right weight for you is probably (at a guess) around the 100kg mark.
Making sensible and informed eating and drinking choices plus a bit of physical activity is all that you really need. Cutting down the alcohol will help as heap due to the indirect benefits that we often make piss poor food choices when alcohol is involved.
You need to maintain some balance too mate, reward yourself with the odd treat / bit of shit food. Have this 'treat' as a snack or meal though, not a day long feast.

That's the way I see it. I'm not giving this diet a name. I know if I have smaller portions and replace rubbish with veges, and cut the beer right down then I will lose weight.
My weight should sit between 100 and 105

Well I have to have lunch.....
Not one beer this week so far!

I have to admit, if Pols wins on Friday, I think I will be beering!
you could always switch to half pints.........
Just means you'll be at the bar twice as often as everyone else, cardio right there.
I figure that I am doing this over a long time as I should be looking at losing nearly 30kgs in a healthy way so it is going to take ages. I need to make sure that I enjoy the events that happen and be good unless there is reason not to be

I turn 40 early next month and am strongly considering dropping the booze for the rest of the year (after the party of course). It helps that our little office has decided to have a weight-shredding competition in May, followed by a press-up competition in June (aka June-Up) where, last year, the winner completed 9700 press-ups in the month of June.
If that's not a kick-start, I don't know what is. Currently sitting at 6ft & 98kg & could definitely do with some off the waistline.

we've got some heavy motherfuckers on here

A good start to the week. Haven't strayed off the diet.
Last night was my first concern as true-love wanted a salmon dish that had cream in it. I cooked it and it was yum but was kind of disappointed I had cream.
Anyhoooo Weigh in days are today (Thursdays) and Mondays. Thursday to remind myself not to slip too much on the weekend and Monday to see if I was a tool over the weekend.
I do realise in the first week will be the greatest gains but from last Saturday Morning's weight of 131.9kg, (I only started the regime on Monday) I have lost 2.8kg.
New weight 129.1kg Yay!
-
@Hooroo I think giving yourself a bit of flexibility around the odd rich dish etc is all good. Can motivate you to be stricter with the rest of your eating, at least in my experience. Hell, just eating less of exactly the same sorts of kai will see your weight drop (as JK mentioned), so don't beat yourself up for the odd treat.
Wouldn't be surprised if you see a good 1.5-2kg going a week for the first month. The bigger dip in the first week can involve a lot of water if your diet has been high in carbs/sodium?? lol I'm sure I've read that somewhere! bringing in a bit of bro-science for ya!
Great progress bro!

I'm sure you're right as even after a couple of days, I felt less bloated (Didn't realise I was feeling bloated before I started, if you get what I mean)

@Hooroo ha ha I know EXACTLY what you mean
Really hope you manage to catch the exercise bug too - can be tricky to find something that appeals and fits within lifestyle. Have you ever been much of a gym bunny? or has it more been about particular sports etc?

Joined the Gym last night and will start up next week.
I used to gym very regularly and see a PT. This time I want the gym to help get fit but also focus purely on improving my golf again
