@Kirwan Nay, the little lad from Westport was a battler. Ben Blair nearly won that game at Twickenham in 2002 and is still Cardiff Blues record point scorer.

If you had mentioned Ben Atiga, I might have agreed with you.....

@Kirwan still an egg though. What was that about with Jantjies?

You mean Lentjes who the ref told to shut up earlier?

Haha that one. The one who got shoved by Reiko while just walking back to the scrum.

A nudge whilst both players were mouthing off.

Oh my mistake, Reiko isn't a dick then.

Says the guy with AfterDavid in his team...

What the fuck is this? What does Smith has to do with it?

    Oh Li.

It was a really good tackle

    Um no.

He came across from his wing and it slipped up. Marginal penalty.

The point being there are plenty of mouthy pricks in every team.

Well done Highlanders, you gave it to us up front and deserved to win. Coltman and Lentjies were brilliant and hammered us at breakdown.

Get this, Ben Atiga is more than a year younger than Ma'a Nonu. Ben Atiga gave up Rugby about five years because of arthritis. Puts Ma'a's incredible longevity in a bit of context.

Those two intercepts really fucked us. Heads went down after Nock's.

Congrats Highlanders, well-deserved win. Great defence held against a dominant Blues' attack in the 1st half; the rest improved in the second half. Coltman and Frizell very good. Josh Ioane, Walden and BFA the best in the backline.

Blues let themselves down; didn't take their opportunities in the 1st half. Rieko and Nanai held under control by the Landers; Akira completely invisible after the first few minutes, but Nonu and Robinson were a threat all game. I think everything has been said about Parsons. Bit of a mixed bag.

Coltman was superb tonight. Coles and Harris shouldn't be complacent about making the RWC squad.

    @Tim yes.

Shit effort tonight. Very disappointed. We created opportunities but we're not good enough to take them. If the refs not good, we're struggling. Ah well, flush the dunny and take the bye

Poor from Blues. Got dominated in 2nd half. They have only one guy competing at breakdown. Poor selections and coaching continue to let this team down. Backs can’t do anything with slow ball like that.

Forwards were flat after the first 30mins. It seemed to be a tactic not to commit numbers and it didn’t work. We never recovered from the glut of possession the Highlanders had either side of half time

    We need the bye week

Hopefully MacDonald rotates the pack more in the 2nd half of the season

@kev Dunno why Cowley-Tuioti is starting ahead of Goodhue. I'd have Scrafton off the bench too, if he's fit.

And the Parsons project will get rolled out for another 2 years, got absolutely owned by Coltman this evening..Will not get any better,it’s time to go to the market and get a top level halfback ..2 really key positions and we are so off the pace In these areas it’s not funny..Tom Robinson may have have been caught out down the blindside, but he makes up for his other efforts in spades..probably done more in his short career than whole lot more that been fortunate enough to wear a Blues jersey.

Scrafton is better than both of them. GCT should drop out of the 23

@Tim we don’t seem to trust players. Thought guys looked tired. Other teams rotate players in and out. Keeping momentum.
