@Hooroo how are you tracking bro?

Wanted to give the lads a shout out about that fasting app. Magic stuff! Toying with moving on from a 13 hour window now that I am getting the hang of it. Find that I'm doing at least an hour extra most days. Only 1-2 days where I've had a late night snack and had to wait till after midday to eat.

True-love is doing it and loving it.

I am two notches on the belt better but haven't weighed myself. Gym is yet to start too as been too busy/slack. Paying for it though, so that makes me nice and angry

Ok so started at 131.9 and weighed this morning in at 127.4.

Happy with that as done through no real hardship and with a ten day holiday that didn’t even look at the diet.

If I can do a between 1&2 kg a week, that is good as I have not got any holidays planned in short term. Just one 3 day golf thing that will involve a lot of beer

Just don’t eat while drinking beer. Easy

Downloaded the android version too (zero) , app is great does exactly what it should but could I hack it!? Tried 16:8 and couldn't make it to lunch time, tried a second day and again wanted Raspberries and cup of tea with milk too badly. Are you guys doing it Everyday or should it be so many days of the week?

I am still mostly carb free though and already passed my "back of the closet" clothes test as opposed to scales... Also made me think how lucky you guys are to be happy to lose boobage, I can't go any further with weightloss so need to plateau or I start losing it in the wrong places!

Yoga from home tonight using YouTube but left it too late and now wide awake and trying not to holiday clothes shop. Thanks to the adverts that come up on the fern too by the way.🙄

Need to maintain now until July... Could totally ruin it if I'm not sensible.

@RLx31 have to admit I failed the 16:8 today, bubs had a shocker overnight and I needed some kai about an hour before the fast was due to finish.

I've found the 13 hour window easy to maintain 7 days a week, although I focused on workdays to begin with. Mentioned earlier that it's helped me cut out my after dinner snacking. I just drink some water instead so I'm also more hydrated which is a bonus win.

I think I'll run with 13 hours most days with some 16:8 when I know my schedule will make that easier to achieve.

Insert some wise words about how long it takes to embed a habit? A quick google shows around 2 months before a new habit is automatic, with some critique of the 21 day threshold. Hmmm 2 months would take you through to July!!

@Paekakboyz my habits good i can keep going but don't want to lose weight now need to maintain or not lose too much more, just need to find the balance so I don't go off the rails maybe that's where the fasting could help... 🤔

I personally find 16-8 reasonably easy provided I have a shitload of black coffee to last til lunchtime

Coffee and water are a must. And you get used to it, better start at 13 and add an hour every few days. I used to run to the kitchen at 12 for 16/8 and now am pretty comfortable at 3pm for 20/4.

Amazing how things change. I’m a “natural fat bastard” so have to work consistently to prevent from blowing out.

Everything I’ve ever been taught states fasting is a no no. That it puts your body in starvation mode and hence stores whatever you subsequently eat.

What’s changed and how does this work?

I think it's the anabolic window or some such shit. basically 16 hours in which to burn fat, luckily half of that involves being asleep.

    it definitely works.

It's piqued my interest. As I could easily skip breakfast every day and not eat until 12.

As a side note, I never knew that the word anabolic had it's own usage outside roids.

Short version that after 12 hours you switch over to burning stored energy instead from food. The longer you stay like that the more fat you burn.

You still eat every day, just in a set window. So fast for 16, eat in the remaining 8.

And there is no such thing as starvation mode.

Does it work if in that 4 hour window you'll mainly be sitting at your desk doing jack shit? Or does the 4 hour window have to be at a set time? As my weekdays are pretty routine with dinner all sorted by 7pm, and at my desk around 7am. So I'd basically be looking for breaking it at 11am, but with vast majority of that 7-11am on my arse.
