    Nought for one.

Guptill misses a yorker first ball of the game.

I reckon there was more than a hint of edge there?

Done by the DRS on that. Ball obviously was turning sharply toward leg but ball tracker had it almost straight

Well here's hoping the Windies keep being just un-co in the field.

Bugger. This was definitely a day we needed Munro to produce something.

    Certainly a sub-optimal start.

Given our propensity for carousel selections in the past few decades have we stuck with a batsman who has been this bad for this long? Especially at opener in the limited overs game? Maybe Gary Stead has sympathy.

Cottrell unplayable, gets across a pretty lucky Kane several times in a maiden over.

I would almost get it if his bowling was a factor and it was a balance thing or we had no one else. But the guy has bowled less than 20 overs all summer and we have Nips just sitting there.

Yes he may not be an ODI opener, but Munro sure as shit isn't one either.

Taylor and Williamson have steadied the ship, if they can continue this until tea we have a good chance of setting a competitive total on Day 2 and take advantage as the pitch takes turn on the final day.

A good toss to win and Windies making the most of it.

Kane and Ross looking solid, but Windies bowling is pretty disciplined.

This is Martin Crowe / Andrew Jones - esque from these two. Neck a neck scoring at similar strike rates, but doing it quite differently.

How many failures can the top 2 bats have before Henry Nicholls is given a go?

Yes, if I want a guy who isn't going to get out in the first over of a big CWC game it is BMac.

Get Nicholls in there. The only path to victory with the bat against the big boys is Kane or Taylor scoring big runs, so put in as many guys who can conceivably bat in long partnerships with two.
