    @MN5 Enjoyed that.

Some of the stats in cricket are great - the % balls faced "in control" for example. Very subjective (like rugby tackles successful) but interesting none the less, and the top of that list show why they score the most runs.

Well, to put it in a much less eloquent way.

We are fucked beyond belief if he doesn't score big.

Might be putting the cart before the horse but I certainly hope that Boon and the umpires are as impartial as possible when it comes to subjective calls like whether to attempt a 23 over aside game with the weather clearing or abandon etc.

Agreed, but most teams are. Rohit and Kohli are India's Kane and Rossco. Their supporting cast are a lot better than ours though.

@rotated Yeah, just because we are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get us (and you may well be onto it early).

You're a bit old to be believing we might be cut an even break in the ICWC! 🙂

Wouldn't it be funny if it ended up being another Aus/NZ final.

Funny indeed given our recent play has been nothing short of a joke.

I'm not so sure about that I think the problem has been some diabolical form from guys you'd hoped would have done better ( Guptill and Latham mainly )

Yeah true, but their guys don't get to go out there and fail like ours do. Hard to judge.

I know, I guess it is one of the quirks of cricket but just one massive hundy from one of those two could have changed things for us so much.

@MN5 which player other than kane would make their batting line up?

    Yep, none

That's all we've got though, sadly.

I know Rossco is underrated overseas amongst the very top echelon of the game but to see a Black Cap fan not even mention him brings cold feelings to my heart.

I don't think there's an international ODI squad that Taylor wouldn't walk into. In some cases he'd be second fiddle but for pretty much all the teams who've already gone home he'd be their best batsman.

Depends if it's a like for like replacement or if we just combine the best players of each team. A combined team would include Kane, Rosco, Boult and Ferg IMO.

We have some world class players, I really think we've badly underperformed in the last three games.

Tendulkar has written us off which is great to see.

The vitriol the Indian team will get from their fans will be next level if they lose.

    No pressure!

Have to think BCs are more dangerous now as they are due...whereas had they been playing well, they would also be due...

@No-Quarter Boult would get a run. Don't think they need Ferg as their spinners do the same role and concede less.

As for the game, I just can't will myself any hope. Jesus, I've got more expectations when buying a lotto ticket than imagining how we're going to nick this tonight.

Actually my best hope is in how many times in life I've been staggeringly wrong before!

India by 6 wickets or 88 runs
