I haven’t really taken notice of what AB coaches say in press conferences since Hart was spinning, but I did have a laugh at what Hansen said post Bledisloe.

It’s a lot better than it was last week. The lesson you’ve got to learn is that if you’ve got a bit of rugby talent, you’ve got to turn up with the right attitude,” Hansen said.

I would like to wish Australia all the best too. Whilst we have some fierce battles, we do enjoy them, they’re good men and they’re very similar to ourselves. So if we can’t win, we’d like them to.

Got me thinking if the unthinkable occurred in Japan, who could you live with winning it all.

    Certainly not the Aussies.

I’ve never been a huge fan, but I think I could live with Wales winning it. Not that I think they are more favoured than a few others, but I will dislike it less than if OZ, Boks or Paddies did.

    So who you got?

I could handle Aussie over the Northern bunch. In fact, unless there is a real upset like Italy or Japan winning, then I think I would prefer Aussie to win if we don't

    Not Australia.

If the countries actually capable of winning it it would mean the most to Ireland or wales so one of them .

Did I mention not Australia ? I don’t mean just the next one I mean ever again.

Wales for mine (no coal pun there). Number one team in the world, consistently good for over a year, never won a world cup. (Just quietly, I also have a Welsh wife).

The caveat to that is that they don't beat us to get there - we have to lose to someone else, which would mean an exit earlier in the tourny which isn't at all cool. Don't want to lose the 66 year record though and the in laws would be unbearable.

These scenarios are like deciding which testicle would be less painful to cut off.

If we don't win it, not really too worried. Prefer Aus, SA or Argentina just to keep the trophy in the Southern Hemisphere

if we cant win it, I think we should take the cup and gap it!

A new team winning it would be good, which I guess can mean one of Ireland, Wales, France or Argentina.

The French probably 'deserve' it more than any of those, having been to more finals and never won...chokers?

I think I'd prefer the Bok win it if we dont though.

Wouldn't mind the Boks either - but it gives them three as well. Our bragging rights diminishing and @Billy-Webb is hanging around here again so can't have that.

They do have a good team though and playing some pretty good rugby.

That first match is going to be huge and with Kermit as ref anything could happen.

Anyone new to be honest. Wales I'd prefer as they are my second team as I'm Welsh from 3 generations ago. But anyone new and I'd be fine. Anyone but Australia and England.

Not Australia. Any kiwi who says Australia should be deported and/or banned from returning to NZ.

They should also have headphones glued to their ears and be forced to listen to kearns and mardo talking about how good the Wallabies are 24/7.

The Clockwork Orange treatment. Nice. I suggest the eyes pinned open and some views off bled matches around the turn of the century as well.

I'd prefer another SH squad to win the RWC if we can't. Go Pumas! More realistically, the Springboks.

France - 3 times losing finalists. I only know a few French fans and they're all top blokes. they rented my house in 2011 and I had a couple of fantastic sessions with them Allez les Blue

On the other hand I know plenty of Pom, Ocker, Saffa, Taff and Paddy [and Kiwi] supporters who are insufferable piston wristed gibbons, so no thanks.

France for me if it's not us. Hopefully a WC win will finally bring some consistency to their game.

France may win the RWC in 2023 on home soil, especially with their U20s having won the JWC for the last two years and some of these players progressing to the senior squad. So hopefully they don't win it this time.

My old man was at a bar with one other kiwi in San Diego and a bunch of french fans watching the 2007 quarter final , from what he told me about their behaviour they aren’t any better than the rest of us .

Anyone who says Australia needs the clockwork orange treatment watching the Bledisloe ads that had a waka full of Maori turning up in Australia and immediately signing up for the dole .

I was at the match. They aren't.

That new clockwork orange treatment could gather some momentum. We have plenty of material.

The old 'choose your poison' question.

I might agree with Wales, if I hadn't seen some social media comments recently from fans of another first time "clear-winner-on-the-pitch" this year - England at Lords - which made me want to throw my screen under the nearest freight train. My hunch is that Wales would see it as their long overdue destiny.... well, or just be insufferable for four years. 🙂 Plus Gatland.

Maybe France. Maybe, maybe the Springboks. Otherwise none of the other likely contenders have any appeal whatsoever. I'd vote for Fiji having seen their fans having an awesome time at the Sevens, but unfortunately their 15's have much less chance...

I take him at face value on this one. When our cricket team gets talked up by Aussies I don't take it as a compliment.
