Absolutely extraordinary Morning Session from the Aussie bowlers. On the back foot at Stumps last night, now on the cusp of taking a 2-0 lead and retaining the Urn.

    @TeWaio correct.

Woakes stands to be top scorer here. Prick has a way of making runs.

And Joel Wilson fucks up again. Count to 6 you dick.

If I had a ticket for day 4 I'd be starting to worry.
If I had a ticket for day 5 I'd be considering using it to wipe my ...

So much for my pontificating about Starc's inclusion / exclusion.
If Pattinson, Hazelwood and Cummins are going to keep getting these sorts of results, then I'm afraid Starc isn't going to get a look in.

How do you get a job being a specialist batsman at 7? If this buttler fella was any good ( at test cricket) wouldn't he be at 4?

    23°C at Leeds right now.
25°C predicted for my place tomorrow.
    Summer? 🤔

24 overs in the session (bit slow)
    54 runs
    6 wickets

If you have a true allrounder like Stokes, it makes it possible.

    They don't come around often...

@Billy-Webb the luxury of a number 7 specialist batsman with one ton in 58 goes? 😉

Weird ay? Balance looks wrong in that team.

There is nothing less boring in the world than Australians who post English Summer vs Aussie winter bullshit. Only seen it 48 million times. Get a new joke FFS.

Guess what. If I wanted to live somewhere with 40 degree summers, I would!

    I don't! Deal with it!

Maybe less a balance problem, and more a problem that their top 7 can't seem to score any runs.
If those guys actually made a few, it is a pretty handy side.

Well... they are also struggling for an effective spinner..

I have a sneaky feeling here ... that England will still get a first innings lead. And ... I'm going to put my balls on the stone here.

Avatar for a week that England take a first innings lead.

    Whose up for it?

Good on ya MR. Gutsy call. Not impossible. It only takes one meaningful stand...
Personally I think @NTA should be taking you up on this one. I'm just a neutral here.

@NTA Yeah, but Leeds was where Joseph Priestley discovered fizzy water.

@Billy-Webb Well if the top few don't score you are always going to have issues. Roy doesn't look like a test cricketer to me (neither does Steve Smith - so what do I know).

As for English spinners...who was the last really, really good one??

And yes they are a handy side at ODI. They don't look so good at test cricket to me.

Agree, but the bet is only available until the next England wicket falls. And I suspect NTA maybe gone for the day now .... so if anybody else wants to take me on. Be my guest.
