Championship Final: The Bay vs Hawkes

The big question is - does this count towards the Battle of the Bays? Or like the Ranfurly Shield, is it only up for grabs in regular season games?
TAB is saying $1.47/$2.55 in favour of the The Bay (current holders of the Battle of the Bays title). Slightly less favoured than NZ and SA in the RWC semis and Ta$man in the other final.

With no basis in anything, I'd always assumed it was Ranfurly Shield rules.
