Why? There's a scene where they are in a diner and they play Dolly Partond original version of the theme song, the accent is on the you part of the title. When Whitney sings it she spends about a minute on a ululating version of the word "I" , personally I think that says a fair big about Whitney .

So I guess you're watching dirty dancing tonight ? -

Tomorrowland

Disney vehicle for George Clooney to do a kids/tweens/teens film. Interesting premise and a message about the planet going to shit and self-fulfilling prophecy. Hugh Laurie also present as the "bad" guy.

I thought it was quite good. The production values are obviously high. Clooney makes a good grumpy disillusioned inventor, and there is the whole message of hope thing.

Basically this flopped because it wasn't animated - and it's probably about 30 minutes too long.

I thought it was decent.
-

No Way Out is a really good Costner film.

Costner has made some bloody good films over the years, and at the risk of getting abused by the Macho Man Jegga Savage I thought he was pretty good in The Bodyguard. At the time I always wished he'd do an action movie sequel of it (take out all the Whitney stuff and just have him being a bodyguard to people) that I reckon would have been good.
-

I liked Waterworld!

His biggest issue was his movies were all about a week long!
-

Did actually just do a LOL at that!

Costner - I'm not really a fan of his as an actor. He kind of reminds me of Derek Zoolander and his one look. Tin Cup was alright, Dances With Wolves was so long ago I can't remember, but like TR, I did enjoy Waterworld. Although as Dennis Hopper does, he sort of stole the limelight for me in that movie. Mr Brooks was built up waayyy to much for me to enjoy.

Anyway, last nights watching was Back to the Future. A genuine 10/10 movie that one.
-

I never understood the hate for waterworld, I saw it on the big screen and thought it was a decent enough action film. He was good in silverado too playing against type. -

Back to the Future is genuinely a timeless classic. Brilliant movie.

Part of my enjoyment in watching some of these older movies is that they bring back some great childhood memories.
-

Waterworld

JFK

Open Range

Thirteen Days

For the Love of the Game

Tin Cup

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Bull Durham

The Untouchables

Field of Dreams

All Costner movies i really like
-

TR Jnr loves them too, he is having a diet of modern day films mixed with the classics of, well, all time - Back to the Future, all the Indie's except the l ast one, Star Wars, Princess Bride, Goonies and so on. Although he is now asking about the slightly more grown up Terminator, Mad Max, Predator, Alien...
-

Princess Bride is one of my all time favourite movies. Must have watched it 100 times as a kid!

Haha, them, Porky's, Screwballs, Animal House and other of thier ilk were cool!

bush :mocking:
-

Interestingly, the director of Revenge of the Nerds started his career with an incredibly dark film, starring Hal Holbrook and Louise Fletcher, in which "A man hires hires five hookers to fulfil a final fantasy before killing himself and his family."

Length of film was an issue at nearly 2 hours. Some dead spots that could have easily been left out.
-

Didn't really like prince of thieves that much , is the postman any good? The book was great , quite an original concept in a few ways. -

Totally agree about No Way Out, that is an excellent espionage thriller. Love the way Roger Donaldson managed to shove in some NZ stuff too.

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is one of my faves, although probably more to do with Alan Rickman's brilliant Sheriff. And Sean Connery's Scottish, greybeard version of Richard the Lionheart (young English king who only spoke French and Latin) was usual high standard.

I always think more highly of men who admit to enjoying a well written, well acted romcom. Kinda weird how they get shit, but women don't really if they say they like crime/horror/action??
-
