This is my anxious time of day now waiting for the latest press conference to start 😢
Italy has overtaken china's death toll....

Reports 31 people caught the virus from 1 wedding in NSW. Apparently people at weddings getting drunk, dancing together eating from same tables etc.
Apparently wedding venues have put up marquees outside to get around the 100 indoor rule.
This is why westerners are fucked, all wedding venues should have shut down.
Venue claiming that the 31 who all got it were not contagious at the wedding. Ok so just a big coincidence? -
Thankfully it’s Friday here, hasn’t always been the easiest keep my mind on work. Kinda getting over this constant cleaning and using hand sanitiser 100 times a day.
Those of you in Europe and Asia hope you can keep hanging in there.
I’m hopeful here in NZ we don’t ‘catch up’ to the rest of the world, hoping no drastic action is needed.
Keep your chins up, keep drinking tea or anything harder if required... oh and I’ve heard crumpets are great in times like this too.. -
Some of the innovative thinking is impressive. ASDA are working with places like sandwich shops and restaurants to set up pop-up supermarkets and airline logistics staff are working with the NHS supply chain.

@Virgil What do you put on those crumpets?
Butter and golden syrup is beautiful
I'm now getting homesick for that waxy white honey I grew up with.

Boris mentioned 12 weeks a few times tonight.

All the restrictions came into effect here yesterday at noon. The nightly news showing people still not taking it seriously police were berating people in the street sending people home and closing shops, that thought the rules didn't apply to them.
Here in the countryside its not as much of a disruption but still noticeably less traffic around today.
I've seen people describe the majority of these people as the 'new-French'. Any truth in that or is it across the board?
On the news it was in the 18th, so a lot of immigrants. But it's not just them. In the town in Paris I stay in all the rich people have just been given a bollocking and all parks and green spaces are now closed. As people were letting their kids play together in them.

Thanks for that. Its a very easy time for certain folk to stoke fear and hatred.

He was pressed to elaborate and looked stumped. There's still a lot of "let's hope all you people are sensible and take advice and we should be OK..." absolutely convinced they are now just going for hopes of herd immunity whether we like it or not.
Positive note, the "pregnancy test but with blood" sounds promising. He has a way with words old Boris, I'm almost warming to him now. -
Have to say Ive been impressed with Boris, Scomo, Trump and Ardern. Hell of a time to be a leader. You are staring down the barrel of deaths in the 6-7 figure range in countries where hardship for the most part up to now meant someone ruining the next GOT episode.
-
@R-L thinking just to encourage people to follow govt advice and give an endpoint...which I'm sure will be revised in around 10 weeks...

You'll be glad to know my taste card isn't worthless. They've updated things to be all about delivery! Jolly good.
