Posted in the coronavirus thread but even WWE smackdown went ahead with no crowd. My son is watching It now and it’s all from the performance centre with empty seats.

It was pretty surreal, especially since the international feed kept running during ads, and the first match didn't know, so they stopped wrestling during the ad break...

Apparently Wrestlemania is now running along the same lines.

    Wow thats a crackup!

Had read that too. Seems everything this year is just going to be that little bit different

Day 1 of Wrestlemania just finished - not bad considering the lack of crowd. Pretaped and clearly a bit of editing going on, but if there is no crowd, may as well make the most of TV.

Undertaker vs AJ Styles in the Boneyard Match was a classic B-movie fight (in that it was filmed at a cemetery [so presumably on a WWE film set], not just a match at the PC) which I enjoyed the heck out of, but obviously not going to be everyone's taste!

There's the usual free month for new subscribers, and all other shows are free currently, but not this Wrestlemania.

Presumably this means the plan will involve propping up big old businesses and making sure small, agile businesses with lots of talent get buried

i think the Raw is War period is the pinnacle, but the WWF days were certainly mad as fuck.

I remember looking at an old promo poster for the Royal Rumble from the late 80s and out of 20 Wrestlers 10 of them are now dead.

Recreational and performance enhancing drugs aren't a recipe for a long life.

Amazingly Jake the Snake is still alive ( not enough steroids to go with the coke ? ) and shit he can tell some good yarns.....check this out.....his Macho Man impression is better than the real thing was !

Mean Gene was brilliant. As was Bobby Heenan, Miss Elizabeth. So many personalities. Not to mention a pre-roids Vince McMahon and Jesse the body as colour guys. I never realised Vince was actually the boss man!

    Austin
The Rock (people's champion, and corporate champion)
    HHH
    HBK
    Undertaker
    Cane
    Big Show
    Goldberg
    Foley
Chris Jericho (probably the best on teh mic)
The last days of Brett Hart
The guys who came over from WCW, like DDP
D Generation X (containing a couple of the above)

Then the insane tag teams, Edge & Christian, the Hardy Boys, the Dudleys... some of their matches were just nuts, what they did to their bodies

All called by JR and Jerry "The King" Lawler

    Trish Stratus, Stacey Keibler...

And the ongoing theme was the Austin v McMahon, and it was awesome.
