I can't upvote a death but Dennehy was still appearing in The Blacklist as recently as last year.

The highlight reel just shown on the BBC would have seen Norman have a very short career in the modern game.

@MiketheSnow The famous 1975 tussle between Norman Hunter and Franny Lee. They were England room mates:

Bruce Allpress - a constant part of kiwi tv and movies for a generation (and father of Michael Allpress of Allpress Coffee fame)

Will always live on in NZ from this alone though.

Really sad. Cool band and his keyboard sound was very distinctive and clever. RIP

@JC Fuck, saw them when they were here in Feb. Really good show (the "new" lead singer is an arse - jokes about CWC final had cups thrown at him - and he reacted like some tough guy which he clearly isn't).

Great band and Misex were fantastic too.

Misex? Did they dig up a singer?

"Dig up" - nice, well sort of.

Yeah, and he was bloody brilliant too. Steve Balbi, a kind of Johnny Depp lookalike character. Would go and see them again anytime.

Aw c'mon. I've been waiting 30 years to use that joke.

And now Deane Sutherland from Satellite Spies has died too, of some shitty skin cancer at 58. I met Deane a long time ago and he was a good guy. It was a real shame he and Mark fell out. SS was a quintessential 80s band. Their sound has dated a bit but I still break it out occasionally. RIP Deane.

I don't remember any other SS song apart from "Destiny In Motion", as the music video was on TV all the time. I just listened to "Living In A Minefield" and "It Must Be Love" and neither sounds familiar.

    Here it is:

Fark. And now Florian Schneider, founder of Kraftwerk has died. Cancer at 73. For me, one of the most influential musicians of our time. Modern music simply wouldn’t be what it is without him. RIP Florian.
