Lesson for Sky Sport NZ - don't ever invite Wheeler back to comms, he sounds as boneheaded as they come. Seemed happier than A Smith

I quite liked it eh, thought it was funny. Nothing like a jock in commentary!

Gats "they didn't really create anything in attack"...

hmmm. apparently driving straight through your forward pack isn't attack these days? is it only attack when you throw the ball wide? based on that response and chiefs plan would seem so

Can we go back in to Lockdown.

Drive it, Hammer! Drive it! 🙂

Hey, you're still here, haven't seen you for a while. Was starting to get worried.

At least the winning of the game from the Highlanders was due to their two Magpies try scorers. 🙂

Also a 10 point contribution from Ta$man's Mitch Hunt and Hammer's coaching! 🙂

To the chiefs? Hammer's coaching at the breakdown was about as good as Hunt's electric attacking play. Reckon if they're training back moves with him involved they could replace him with a tackle bag.

Hammer's lineout and drive was awesome though. A whuppin'! 🙂

And Mitch kicked the necessary goals.

TAB said Chiefs $1.33, Highlanders $3.10, so cavilling from Highlanders supporters is uncharitable at best! 🙂

Mitch just keeping the score close by missing that unnecessary sitter of a conversion shot after the first try.

    😎

Fun game, especially the end. Players need to wise yup faster around the more strict ruck enforcement. Once they do, faster games

Happy with the set piece eh, really accurate as opposed to basically everything else.

Biggest issue at the breakdown for the Landers was slow arrival due to making their way around the tackler (or getting caught in front of the ball carrier). Easy fix as they shouldn't be doing that now, just go straight and if the tackler obstructs then it's pen time.

It's not going to happen but Hunt needs to be bench at best.

Koroi and Gilbert looked like they were on debut.

Great to see matchbox looking capable, not quite form of old but certainly didn't stink up the joint.

Tomkinson went ok, but again he should be the bench player - think his aggressive running could be more dangerous towards the end of the game.

Thought Dickson really stepped up and Parkinson looked comfortable (although needs to bulk up).

Dixon put in a performance typical of him.

    MMT for MOTM.

Really liked Smith's game, thought he was sharp for first game back and will only improve.

Also, really liked the look of the chiefs young locks.

When you look about the traps, it's very encouraging that we seem to be about 2-3 years away from having fantastic depth from 4-8.

Great start to the Super comp. And no need for piped in crowd noise. Brilliant

@Yeetyaah ref said it was in the tackle, but didnt rule a knock on, odd sequence

Yeah I'm guessing he ruled out a deliberate knock forward so convinced himself there was no offence to rule on. Was weird.

Koroi was terrible up until that milked card. Highlanders might be better for it.
