    @taniwharugby probably true. Extremely disappointed.

    I’m actually picking the Canes to win this one. Ardie, Dane and TJ to will them over for an unlikely win.

    I think the biggest surprise of the tournament post-Covid is how shit Gatland's Chiefs have been.
    Can anyone say they expected this?

    I'm surprised we weren't favourites for this one. Before the lockdown we lost away to the Stormers and at home to the Blues when we were down to 12 players. We are hardly a bad team, we just have a few journeymen in the forwards and poor depth.

    I don't think anyone thought this was anymore than 50/50, nothing unlikely about the win at all. (Sorry to burst your Nostradamus bubble 😉 ).

    Pretty good - especially given that O'Keefe got a bit confused in the rub of the green stakes - all those Chiefs players wearing red boots - he must have thought they were Canterbury! 🙂

    Canes didn't look great but it was a bloody good win playing with 14 for 25 minutes.

    I've got no idea how Cane didn't get binned for a blatant late shoulder charge. Thems the breaks though I guess.

    Hopefully means we won't get the wooden spoon.

    Big defensive effort from the Hurricanes, especially Princep and Kirifi. Ardie Savea back in great form. I thought TJP had a good game too. A pleasing away win.

    Agreed. Finally a game where he didn't lose his cool and try to win it all by himself. There's a decent halfback in there somewhere, but we see it far too rarely.

    @Bones Clearly the two best.......

    ... Nah not even close

    For a moment there I thought the line was still whirring!

    Stunning performance by the officials in this match, did their best for the chiefs. Was it the first penalty on Jordie for clearly coming in the side? Trying to clean Boshier who's lying all over the tackled player but no matter. Then Boshier features again at the end with the brilliant steal on Fidow, entering from almost the exact angle Fidow did.

    In a game where multiple penalties in the "red zone" doesn't get you even a warning, jumping across the lineout against a team consistently throwing to the outside arm will get you a yellow card. Feel free to throw in a late shoulder charge though eh.

    Jordie showed his worth...jumped ahead of McKenzie that's for sure.

    My pet hate Ben O’Keefe once again did not let me down
    I cringe when I see his name down to ref a game.
    Another inconsistent poor display by Mr O’Keefe.

    Well said!

    The commentating was ridiculous too. COntinually going on about the 'threat' of DMac - who really only a threat to his team. No one is on the same page, he rushes around like a blue arsed fly, and is creating chaos but not opportunities for his team. Maybe when with the ABs more players are able to be on the same wavelength, but (like TJ did) he needs to calm down. TJ still spent too much time gesticulating to the ref for no reward, but at least he didn't try an do everything himself. Commentators same with Pita Gus, they were bigging him up everytime he got the ball, but 13 runs for 21 metres ain't great. Looks good/exciting to see him hit up but got smashed back often. Ardie, 6 runs 67 m to compare...

    EDIT: Princep (21 +2 miss), Kirifi (16 no miss), Blackwell (15 +3 miss), and even Ben May (13+1 miss) were people I don't rate at all - but they stood up today on defence. Cory obviously gave them a stern talking to!

    Really bored of Gatland and increasingly the Chiefs blaming the officials every week. Yawn! It's a tiresome act he learned from UK soccer managers.

    The main reason the Chiefs are 0-4 isn't the referees.

    @Machpants yeah defence was excellent from the canes. I wouldn't go comparing Sowakula to Savea on runs since they're running vastly different channels. I thought Sowakula played really well and was back in the kind of form he was pre covid. Hope he develops further next year as he's a farkin big Modi.

    Ardie played well but I spotted a couple of lazy "bits" that he used to do that annoyed me. A good example towards the end of the game, him and Laumape in defence out on the left, ruck is a bit bare of chiefs, Ardie tries to pretend the ball is out and nips around the back only to be rightly told to get onside. Laumape hits the ruck and nearly cleans the one chief. Wtf Savea, that's your job. Could have been easy canes ball but he was being lazy.

    Sounds like a good 2nd 5....Savea that is 😎

    Just watched the game.
    I'm fed up with Chiefs passive D, and on attack lack of vision, imcision and go-forward
    I'm fed up with a non-exostent game-plan and the lack of ability to change it up.
    But most of all of I'm fed up with Gatland and his hard luck stories - here's a thought and a story for you Gats - get the fark back to Wales take and stay there and take your assistants with you - Chiefs were a better team without you.
