@Tim Ha ha! And who can blame them for not wanting to go.

Can the RC and let's have the strongest NPC we will see in decades.

    I'm all for that.

Fuck this 'pulling 46 players out of the NPC for weeks on end' bullshit. Fuck it, and fuck it's mother too.

The Prime Minister caves in. I hope she and all future NZ PMs realise they ain't as important as the All Blacks.

Mark Robinson 2 JA 0. Amazing.

Im not sure Mark Robinson can claim any sort of victory.
The 2021 Super rugby negotiations have been a disaster.
The RC has moved to Australia and a couple of weeks out from the proposed, but not agreed to yet, date the Wallabies are threatening to not come to NZ.

He should be grateful he is getting any help from the government because his job is probably more at risk over this than Jacinda’s.

Don't have time to dig into things, but to me JA bullshitted as to reason NZ didn't get Rugby Champs and was called out by MR. Then she relents and gets BC sorted.

IMO she ought to have shown flexibility all the way through OR stuck to her new 'zero tolerance' guns.

That’s not how i see it. The fact is there WAS a large dose of sanzaar politics involved in the decision to hold it in Aust.
ie. the politics of having the Aust government guarantee the income. There was also the whinging about not being able to prepare enough. That is entirely sanzaar politics.

The other fact is that the NZ govt HAVE been flexible in their arrangements. The fact that the teams are allowed in at all and are allowed to form groups before the 14 days was up is a flexibility many NZ citizens and expats aren’t being offered.

Also the is a massive, massive difference between a team coming from Australia, which is largely on top of the situation and a team where a dozen of the members have already tested positive. So im not sure MR having a whinge was entirely the cause of that change.

At least Joane will get a selection now.

Get ready for an ‘who’s that?’ AB team.

Have to take your word for it.

Wasn't really suggesting that MR press comment influenced JA, but I do sense a whiff of double standards, notwithstanding the apparently more trustworthy nature of Oz CV arrangements!

@pakman SA and Arg teams will come from countries (incl NH, and Argentina already have a dozen infected in their squad) with massive levels of infection, so need the tighter restrictions. Oz doesn't, they've been playing and testing the squads in SRAu so are pretty low risk. This Bleds can go ahead due to reduced requirements, RC can't. It's sensible, if very cautious, stuff. But still less severe than what Joe blogs NZ citizen had to do to get home.

We are coming down for the Shield challenge on the weekend of the 18th. Do you think they will move this game to Saturday now that there is an AB test at the same time?

@Yeetyaah from what I have heard, it is a niggle that if an AB game was on, he could play...but given it is a game Northland are very likely to lose, not worth risking him on.

Hurricanes midfielder Ngani Laumape, Crusaders captain Scott Barrett and Otago hooker Liam Coltman have joined the All Blacks in Hamilton.

Coltman has been called in to cover Asafo Aumua who is recovering from a head knock sustained while playing for Wellington.

    From the article on Stuff:

Meanwhile, Foster said that he would delay naming his extra players for the Rugby Championship until everything was finalised with the schedule. Early next week was the original plan.

Tournament rules will allow squads of 46, so Foster will select 11 extras, while injured midfielder Braydon Ennor will also be replaced prior, to take the original squad back up to 35 ahead of the two Bledisloe Cup games in New Zealand next month.

So 12 extra players to be named eventually.

The 11 players the All Blacks should call upon to bolster their Rugby Championship squad

The 11 players the All Blacks should call upon to bolster their Rugby Championship squad

The All Blacks selectors will soon name the extra 11 players to travel to Australia for the Rugby Championship, which is good news for those men but bad news for the Mitre 10 Cup, whose time in the spotlight is over.

Think Nock has better skills than Christie.

I think they will select TTT again, as the AB coaches have talked about him being the closest to Smith in skillset.

kind of annoying, he's hit a rich vein of form for otago, think we were running with 100% lineouts for the first couple of weeks at least
