Rennie couldn't have asked for a tougher start to his Wallaby career. It will actually be very interesting to see how the squads/gameplans shift in those 4 games.

"Robinson said he was pleased with the schedule shift after “constructive dialogue” with Sanzaar and RA but wouldn’t outline exactly what compromise NZR had made.."

In other words "I'm not going into detail about what a shit sandwich tastes like"

To be backed into that corner and have to avoid a fight with the NZRPA and players was incompetent.
Robinson is looking as average off field as he was on so far.

    Yes.

All four unions have agreed to split revenue from the Rugby Championship, given Australia is hosting due to Covid-19, and if the cost of moving the match impacts the overall bottom line, New Zealand might be forced to make up the difference. For example, under the new proposal, there would only be five double-headers instead of six.
If administrators agree profits from the tournament will be diminished because of New Zealand’s insistence on the game be moved, the Kiwis may have to settle for a reduced slice of the financial pie.

@Machpants The article was written before the official announcement of the change but the SMH is RA's mouthpiece aren't they?

@Bovidae An extra game means more ticket sales so how are they reducing profit?

Cos the last game will be a loss, SA Vs Arg, no double header, after the RC is most likely already decided? Unless that stadium is a 7k seater

That would be my guess too. The Wallabies and ABs will be driving ticket sales so going to Newcastle for a neutral game might not be that attractive. We'll see how the ticket sales are for each game.

All Blacks coach Ian Foster said in a radio interview earlier this week that one player “barged in my door” insisting that he would not travel to Australia to play in the Rugby Championship if it meant missing Christmas with his family.

However, a spokesperson for NZ Rugby told media at Friday’s press conference that it was a misstep by Foster, who wrongly said “one player” when he meant “not one player.”

    HAHAHA I call BS

The Springboks’ ability to participate in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship would be finalised early next week, SA Rugby advised on Saturday.

The Boks are due to defend the title in Australia between 7 November and 12 December, but several hurdles needed to be cleared if it is to be confirmed.

The South African government lifted the ban on international sporting participation a week ago and directions to manage such participation were published on Wednesday evening.

A spokesman said that SA Rugby was seeking further clarification from the departments of Arts, Sports and Culture and of Transport as to how those regulations would impact on the planned participation.

A final decision was only likely to be finalised early next week once those clarifications had been assessed internally and with SA Rugby’s SANZAAR partners.

This is what I've been banging on about. SA aren't even confirmed as yet. Argentina? What sort of state are they gonna be in?? At least if they don't make it, we can get a BC series over with by the first weekend of November and get the ABs back into the NPC for the tail end.

Argentina are already there, so I could be Tri Nations

@Machpants OK, well that dashes my hopes for AB involvement in the NPC finals.

You'd assume that Martin Gillingham's sauce is good?

Isn't it more that they haven't been playing?

@Kiwiwomble I'd suggest wellbeing is a lack of preparation for 6 tests in 6 weeks.
