So given that there's only so much sex and sightseeing we can possibly do any brewery recommendations will be gratefully received.

    Skite!

In raglan, I've made my way through all the local beers. Recommend Workshop IPA for an easy drinker, mostly ok

VR, paranoia, and craft beer. Still waiting for the perfect immersive experience.

Following a night testing craft beers Mrs Antipodean and I went to Ocean Park. There we proceeded onto a VR rollercoaster ride. Real rollercoaster while wearing VR goggles. I was enthralled with the quality and completely forgot I was on a rollercoaster as it climbed higher and higher. Next thing we've reached the top and it's time to hurtle downwards while I'm still looking around. For a good second I thought I was plummeting to my death.

I think that satisfies all three criteria.

    Also, Jever is great beer.

Has anyone tried these? These beers might now be collectors items and hard to find (or out of stock).

@Bovidae I thought Murica and Freedom Juice were also Trump themed beers. Dump the Trump & Im-Peach-ment are no longer produced (according to my local)

I enjoyed the former too often but I usually find Sours disappointing. Great at first but quickly wane.

    I do like Behemoth

Simply a brand name now. They contract out everything hence the reason they have endless different brews. They just tweak a recipe and draw up a label for it.
The beer is OK but that's because it is made by a fairly good brewery (Epic I think)

@Crucial Thanks - didn't realise that. Explains a lot. Great marketing though.

@dogmeat Yeah, they have some great names for beers.

I was looking at the Behemoth website and the list of beers no longer in production is huge.

@Crucial Their website says they still brew themselves from their pub in Mt Eden??

About Behemoth Brewing & Andrew Childs • Behemoth Brewing Company
After a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2019, Behemoth moved into their "forever home". With the help of 635 Chur-holders, a brewpub (Churly's) & production brewery now sit on the corner of Dominion Road and Charles Street. With 24 taps there's plenty of space for trying our most recent brew!

Interesting. I'm not sure if that brewery is doing the tap fresh stuff only or their whole supply. I was told only recently by someone in their production chain that the cans come from elsewhere.
I possibly have it all wrong. Depends on size of the brewery I guess.

@Crucial @dogmeat Steam Brewing in Otahuhu (https://www.steambrewing.co.nz/) make really good beer on contract for lots of folk. I think they were associated with Luke Nicholas for a long time (epic), and do plenty of recongisable and good quality brews.

I suspect they do teh bigger batches with canning, while Churlys brew onsite for dispensing there.

Regardless, the beer from behemoth is generally pretty good - I'm going to go and visit Churly's sometime
