    @voodoo bro that's down from basically the hundy club in less than a year. Running at about a tenth of the effort you expend. You can do it!

    I'm definitely a product of my intake rather than my output!

    But I haven't been 86 since I was 15. I got married 15yrs ago with a 4 pack of abs - at 91kgs.

    If I can get to and maintain 95kgs, I'd be pretty fit and happy. Currently 102kgs, not totally unfit, but def not in top shape and def not strong, especially upper body.

    Am also doing dry January, though we had a week away with friends so I only started yesterday . And tonight we have friends over that we haven't seen in 5 months so I'll be back on it...guess that means I did a dry Monday...

    So yeah, going well so far...🤣

    What height?

    6'2

    Always been heavy though, even at school I hit 90kgs with no fat on me.

    @Bones Six weeks. Got a chin bar?

    Nah, I asked about decent ones here and got told to fuck off back to Boganville.

    I'm unbelievably awful at them anyway so that was a perfect reason for me to forget the idea.

    I got to 94 in March last year after totally changing my diet in Bali. Only running 5-8km at a time, lots of surfing, but just zero wine and earning dinner earlier.

    Looked 10yrs younger too!

    @voodoo I hear ya!

    I was 83kg when I got on a plane to do my OE in '99, peaked at 106kg just after Y2K, currently sitting at 99kg, but goal is to get to 95kg, which I have been briefly since '99 (I did get to 89kg through stress in 2013)

    Fuck dry months, although TBF, I dont drink alot, I'd say I average 10-12 units a week (actually, outside of Dec, I probably have a max of 12 units, so ave is probably more like 8-10)

    Hang on hang on .....

    Left in 99. 83kg. Just after y2k ... 106kg?

    +23 kg in under a year???

    @taniwharugby I was really steady. 95 started uni at 70kg. 99 finished at 78kg. Aug 2000 departed for London at 81kg. Left London at 87.5 kg end of 04. Bounced 88-92 next 10 years .... then kids / age. Suddenly 96.5. Touching distance of ton. Massive plan, 3 months later 87. Then crept again to 95 ... marathon plan, 85. Now at 91 again (sigh) but on the downward.

    Sigh. Love beer, wine, unhealthy food and have colossal appetite.

    For me its:

    Wine and eating large meals alone late at night after the kids are asleep - think lamb shoulder and 4 potatoes at 9pm, washed down with a bottle of red 😲

    Hardly touch sweet stuff, no sugar other than what's in the wine (which I know is huuuge)

    @voodoo 'eafrow Injection!

    I think it was the perfect storm of me finally becoming the beast of a man I am, along with the food, booze, doing nothing, more booze and still doing nothing (which was probably the first time in my life I was playing no sports at all)

    Oh yeah, so hadn't been for a proper run in months and certainly not on my own. Did the usual 3km on Saturday at 4:54/km. That weight makes a difference eh.

    Yeah, it makes a massive difference. I reckon I lose about 5 sec/km for every kg I drop without changes to fitness. I think when I run, I sort of have an expected energy use, as I certainly don't think I'm running any faster.

    @MajorRage yeah last time I ran I would've said I was a lot fitter but was probably more like 90-odd kg and would've been struggling to do 5:15/km I'd say. Crazy.
