@Donsteppa I've turned the volume off. The commentators started to annoy me too much.

BIlly Bowdens antics are just as irritating as they were all those years ago in his 'heyday'.

People come to watch cricket, not him.

Craig MacMillan batting more responsibly than at any time in his Black Caps career. Looks more like a prop than ever too.

Edit. Nope there he goes, wild swing outside off.

Yeah his ODI stats were pretty shit for someone of his talent. No doubt about it.

Is there always this much advertising during cricket matches, or is this typical for TVNZ?

I'm terribly bored and not a real cricket fan, so I'm close switching channels.

Came into a discussion with someone with reasonable links to the team of his era, basically the gist was - that group of MacMillan, Flem, Nash, Cairns etc. all the talent in the world, but rockstar attitudes to go with it, thus had to be handled like the prima-donnas they were - sounds like that era promised much, delivered little.

So he's not a winger nor a 12, he's bloody long off fielder. Better late than never to figure it out I guess.

Everyone knows Cairns was a great and the rest were pretty good

It’s glorious watching Fulton seeing it so well and smashing sixes at will.

Then I remember he’s old and retired and plundering runs off Rugby players

@MN5 an interesting counter to that is that Macca and Flem have managed to make it look so much harder.

Fleming played his usual role, blocking lots of balls to drive down the run rate
