one assumes he got a big fine and a ground ban like anyone else would have?
-
@mariner4life like any adult is likely to get - pretty sure they'd exercise a bit of discretion for young'uns. Especially 14 year old's that look 10!

@mariner4life ha ha if I managed to get my family to a RWC final overseas and my kid got on the field I'd expect them to step the security at least once (I mean Kiwi's have a rep to maintain) then take the hit with good grace. I suspect the posh(ish) accent isn't doing this young fulla any favours. But I'd take the view he was frothing and had typical kid brain fart rather than thought he was owed anything when running on field.

Little twat probably figured daddy and mummy could easily pay the fine. But worked out well for him. You do something incredibly stupid and illegal and you get something not even Jonah Lomu had. Seems fair.
-
Was he even tackled? Looked like the security guy was trying to grab him at speed and lost his balance.

You are talking about a kid at the time, give yourself an uppercut. The dude clearly tackled him too, which was a complete overreaction.
Crash tackle adults as much as you like, but a kid got excited at a WC final win and wanted to get close to his idols. Perspective.

Um it wasn’t a crash tackle. If it was said kid wouldn’t have gotten up.
He just got excited? Well that’s ok then. That’s an interesting defence to use in court. Funny how the hundreds of other kids there were able to keep that excitement in check and follow the law. Kid did something incredibly stupid. Consequences and repercussions.

Court? For a kid running on to a rugby field?
Bizarre take. Anyway, trash talking a kid, like your previous posts, is pretty sad.

Comes across very well. And a good video so thanks for posting

Having rules and laws and expecting them to be followed is sad? Mkay.
But no, you’re right. It’s perfectly acceptable. In fact why don’t all kids just run onto the field and anyone who gets a bit excited for that matter. Why bother even having rules or enforcing them? -
@rancid-schnitzel the zero tolerance/throw the book at em take, combined with the spoiled brat comment, comes across as pretty punitive to me. Yep, running on-field isn't on anymore and you should expect to cop fines or whatever the punishment is these days. But in the main that's about player safety and also not having dickheads disrupt a game while it's still going. IMO there is scope for some flexibility in what happened to the kid given it was during the victory lap after the game.
I don't necessarily see a kid from a well off (or super well off) family being any more or less resistant to a rush of blood to the head at a massive sporting event where their idols are literally a few metres away. Doesn't mean he isn't an entitled brat but I'm ok with cutting him some slack.

@paekakboyz i miss kids flooding the field at the full time whistle.
-
@mariner4life I remember being part of horde of kids (inc big ones lol) running on to Athletic Park back in the day.

Better hand yourself in to the police mate!

Spoilt Silver spoon brat breaks rules, gets rightly tackled for it, but gets given a medal. I know SBW meant well, but I know I would have given my kids something rather different to a medal if they’d done something like that.
Clueless too. He referred to SBW as a “Rugby Legend”.
