They only had the new pseudo-craft version - "Wayfarer Pilsner".
It wasn't terrible, but I swapped back to the Tuatara range after one. They may be going the way of Monteith's/Mac's - but there's still some tasty stuff available.
Also - just remembered... there's a literal shed-load of craft beers to be had tomorrow, innit? Or is it in the actual Arena? "Whatevs" - day-drinking!Brewday. See you there.

I think I'm saved by them not being available in any central Wellington bars or offies, that I'm aware of.
(I actually had a second go at sourcing some Monteiths Pilsner at my local offie on the way home - they didn't have any. They certainly had some shit in there, half the cooler was "premix RTDs" and "seltzers" - but I didn't see any Rheineck, or Ranfurly Draught, or Bighorn. -

Yeah - I live in the middle of a few Victoria Uni hostels... and a few days into Orientation Week this year, I saw some kid walking down the road proudly bearing a dozen Flame Beer. I was amazed it was still in production.
I had a distinct flashback of doing that myself... buying a doz of the cheap-but-fancy-lookin' new beer on the market - taking it to a party, and then spending the night swapping it for other people's more traditional choices. -

My mate who has a brewery always brings out the line "Ranfurly if you want cheap piss you can't beat Ranfurly" and that was for all the door knockes that think they will get cheap booze because they're at the source cutting out the middle man

My mate who has a brewery always brings out the line "Ranfurly if you want cheap piss you can't beat Ranfurly" and that was for all the door knockes that think they will get cheap booze because they're at the source cutting out the middle man
And, trying to read that, reminds me why I drink piss made by professionals, even if it is as shit as Ranfurly.

@canefan one of the most awesome memory of a drinking session with mates was on our home brew!
Included washing our hair in the sediment, pissing in the bins on the beach front among other things on a popular holiday beach; day drinking in tents in the rain was so good.

Many home brewers have started their craft beer empires from the garage. Going to a factory brewery is simply for volume and consistency not flavour and quality.
I will temper that with saying there are some diabolical cheap beer 'kits' out there. -
