Well about the only complaint I have about that session is the time zone it was played in🙂

Can devon cope with an afternoon of short stuff?

Kane really is a great "leaver" isn't he?

Thoughts on who is/was better at that?

Steve Smith springs to mind. Frequency, patience and making bowlers change, not elegance🙂

so I broke down and signed up with Spark - must say despite being purely wireless, being able to watch in 1080p on my budget 24" monitor connected to a 10 year old laptop has actually worked very nicely so far. I'll make a final decision when this test ends but it's actually easier watching tests in England live than domestically.

He hits the ball so damn late. There was one delivery where he seemed to hit it so late it was about to hit the stumps. One of the fielders looked quite perplexed

@canefan Nasser did a great analysis highlighting a small "box" where he keeps his hands. Never goes outside the box essentially when defending. Look at his hands and how far they move from his body and you'll quickly see his point, well made.

    I blame you for that.

Ok, I'm going to say it.

Ross Taylor is past it. Great career but the body can't cope ( eyes, reflexes etc). Think Keiran Read in 2019

There, I've said it (nervous gulp)

Hey! I didn't actually say he was playing awesome. Nasser mentioned that Anderson has gotten Kane 6 times in the past, and his average of around 30 in England is the lowest he has in any of the test nations.

Oh dear gawd, it looks like we may have a repeat of the incompetence of the Australian Tour non-selection of Southee: Boult has said he will be available for the second test but the imbecile who is our current coach (A real Buggin's Turn appointment if ever there was) has stated that Boult is unavailable and won't be selected. Can someone please put Gary Stead out of our collective misery please?

It's a miracle the players put up with him at all

It’s been a long time since we’ve been the Black Craps. I stand by my post.

I'm going to bed at 116-3. If it is worse when I watch the rest tomorrow I will make room in my cellar for you, which is actually a wine fridge. I will cut you up to fit you in it though.

If you have the opportunity can you a) arrange for Gary stead to have an unfortunate accident on any steps b) get one of the journos there to really go after him about his mixed signals on selection and link it back to the Aussie tour fuckup
