just north of Bologna up in the hills are these hiking tracks with little old stone pubs (some double as rustic hotels), in the woods, with rocket-proof grappe. I'd love to do some biking around there and spin some yarns with the locals over grappe, cognac and limoncello. Almost worth learning Italian for.

Can't confirm we invented it, but certainly played it many times, and the compulsory monotone sure has an air of Palmy about it

"Fingers on the glass" was a great one for soon after Uni, when I was broke, but drinking with a mate and his circle of moneyed up friends. So easy to finesse that I'd lose the right rounds to drink free piss, but never need to pay for one.So good to have a New Year's party years after Uni, and bring out all the old drinking games. It's amazing how you slide straight back into instinctively using elbows for pointing, etc.

"Yeah Gary" (That Gary responds)
"Tell Gary" (nod/gesture at another Gary)That's it. Any mistake or departure from the script and that person becomes "One Finger" and must hold a finger in front of one eye.

But yeah, shit - I don't think I ever encountered that. Or, I was so bad at it that I don't remember.
Kinda similar to "Spots"... where every mistake is punished with a burnt wine-cork applied to the face, and therefore "No-Spots" becoming "1-Spot", "2-Spots", etc... -

... the thread has actually become a near celebration on how much everybody else is drinking, has drunk, will be drinking, and every other method of encouraging binge-drinking.
