    I had to had a couple of Emersons to wash down the ribs at Lone Star last night, she was a struggle, but I finished them (the ribs were a struggle, beers went down too easily)

    Oh, good on you though @voodoo er, better man than I 🙂 although what was you reason for doing this?

    Just need to get a bit healthier. Been drinking way too much, am carrying too many kgs.

    Likely I won't last the distance, but if I can do a chunk of it then it's got to help!

    Hopefully you're not replacing the drinking with eating.

    We played Peter Plumley Walker (the drinking game, we didn't dupe him into being bound in a cupboard - that was someone else) in Dunedin.

    Simple premise...
    You replace the Roman numerals with parts of his name:
    I = Peter
    V = Plumley
    X - Walker

    Everyone sits in a circle and you start going round the circle with people counting up in Roman numeral styles:
    Person 1 = "Peter"
    Person 2 = "Peter Peter"
    Person 3 - "Peter Peter Peter"
    Person 4 - "Peter Plumley"
    Person 5 - "Plumley"
    Person 6 - "Plumley Peter"
    ... And so on
    Person 11: "Walker Peter"
    Person 14: "Walker Peter Plumley"

    Whoever fucks up the numbers has to drink and they start the count again.

    What happens when you get near 50? Good question - we never got close.

    Yeah - we had a couple of very similar ones, I can't remember the words used, but I think one of them was simply as low-brow as fuck, shit, fluffybunny.

    21 was always a nice, easy, quick game.

    One of my favourite things about travelling - is trying to teach, or learn, drinking games with foreigners - when there's practically zero shared language.
    In China, Liar's Dice was a favourite... with most pubs in the city we lived having dice cups/sets available.

    I checked the calendar and it’s still July.

    Whiskey Sour. My kind of hazy.

    Cru Bourgeois Medoc tonight at ours @voodoo

    Given that I know you enjoy a bottle, I hope one day we’ll be able to open a few together. I know some pretty good places for Nihonshuu too, if you are ever in Tokyo….

    I haven't quite developed a taste for sake, those the wife loves it.

    But you're not wrong about me enjoying a red, and that's definitely a plan. We had flights booked last year for March, canned them a week prior and bolted for NZ instead - definitely keen to get up your way.

    If that happens, let me know. I can provide a few places to try and perhaps even introduce you to some Nihonshuu worth drinking.

    Although I’m not really into the Olympics, I thought a Xinomavro would be a good way to end the month with a Greek theme.
