Definitely the post to start the 2022 thread with:

    Media release: https://www.crusaders.co.nz/latest/news/razorisback/

Yes, I've seen the posts in the 2021 thread. Just can't move them. 🙂

@tim His contract duration hasn't been published, at least not in the official announcements. Haven't seen anything in the media, either.

@stargazer just caught that it's official - signed up till 2024!!! Whoop whoop!!! hmmm but does signing through till 2024 mean Foster gets an extension just because? That's still quite a while to cool his jets and wait for the ABs gig...

apologies in advance for the dirty Stuff link

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/300353650/hopeful-all-blacks-coach-scott-robertson-could-cut-his-new-threeyear-deal-short

Turns out he can make a call in 2023.

@paekakboyz ideally he will be AB coach by years end...however I am not hopeful given the current international rugby landscape, I expect Fozzie will be extended through to RWC.

@paekakboyz So i reality it's just a new deal until the end of 2023 - not a commitment to 2024.

@nepia year much more 2+1 than a 3 year contract. Good on him, I'm glad he got the clause. I just hope that he doesn't have to exercise it!

@taniwharugby I'd be keen as on that. But I don't think there is sufficient time/games for Fozzie to fuck up enough to get the boot.

    From that same article:

He confirmed all his assistants from the recently completed season would be back next year, including Tamati Ellison, who came on board and assisted with defence this year.

    and

In the meantime, he’s busy planning for his sixth season in charge, including addressing the six roster spots he has to fill.

While outstanding Argentinian loose forward Pablo Matera is joining the team, Manasa Mataele (Force), Tom Sanders (Japan), Whetukamokamo Douglas (Japan), Michael Alaalatoa (Leinster), and Brett Cameron (Japan) are confirmed departures.

Enari or Romano the 6th spot

    I agree.

Rennie, Joseph and Razor would be a massive step up in who we've got.

    Aussie Dave, nah.

@Stargazer @Chris I didn’t know Brett Cameron was leaving. I knew about the others, but Cameron is actually a surprise.

    I blame Fox.

Had chance meeting with North Harbour Rugby CEO David Gibson today , he confirmed to me that Bryn Hall will be with the Crusaders in 2022, but possibly his last year.

Any thoughts on who might replace him?

Leon's nicked enough players from around the country - we should pinch one back.

Maybe that young bloke who got a couple of games at fullback - whatisname....Zinzan?....No Zarn - that guy. Let's sign him! 🙂

Segner likely to get the vacant loosie spot.

    Thoughts on others?

I am not sure on that first five spot I think it will be a young player from the academy programme.
Maybe Ollie Lewis or Parata from Ta$man.
Zac Gallagher is on the Radar and Segner I expect both to get a contract.

I hear they are just going with 6 props so not replacing Michael A .
That means and extra forward.Maybe Liam Allen some good chat around him.
To replace Matale I would think Timoci Tavatavanawai is a good bet.
The word I hear replacements are coming out of the academies now we have signed Pablo Materea who is a beast.
Luke Donaldson May get the 3rd HB spot as Enari is another one who we may not offer a contract too.
