@kiwimurph just went to buy tickets and a lot are already gone. Anything on the sides is $140 to $225 EACH.

Terraces are cheaper but that’s a terrible view.

Hard to see that business model being sustainable.

It seems the cost of running a live event at EP is close to uneconomic, if those are the prices needed to make a return.

Or they are marking a killing on the few events per year they are allowed.

Maybe the price could drop with more events?

It's pleasing the players are making the right noises

“We had a plan around how we wanted to exit and get our forwards in the game early,” Smith told The Breakdown on Sky on Monday evening.

“But there was just so many opportunities. We fell into that trap of, ‘we could go on here, it’s hot here, we could do this’.

“But, we should have really got our forwards into the game, getting our loose forwards carrying early, cleaning rucks fast.

“And as you saw the first plays after halftime were direct, at them, we’re coming.

“That sets our game up. Our game drivers won’t do that again.”

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all-blacks/126022609/all-blacks-v-wallabies-aaron-smith-admits-they-didnt-follow-the-game-plan

“We’re taught to play what’s in front of us, and we tried that, but we were just trying a bit too much,” said Papalii when asked about the messy start. “We need to stick to our basics and our system, which we went away from, and as you see when we roll our sleeves up and get direct we can do some damage.

“But we’ve got to stick to that and trust our game-drivers.”

    Coach's fault obviously

Bah, you have all talked me in to it and the boy wants to go. End terrace it is, not bad both of us in for $115.

This post has been weirding me out all. Deciding on Tuesday to go to a Bledisloe and just picking up a couple of decently priced tickets

    Truly the end of days

@kiwimurph this is symptomatic of inexperienced players and new combinations. But we saw on Saturday when they changed things in that middle part of the game, the pressure went on the Aussies and points came pretty freely. Was very good to watch.

I think it's also part of the problem of having "dual play makers" - the guy playing at 10 constantly gets caught in two minds due to the constant stream of "its on out wide" or similar from the guy playing full back who only sees the acres of space directly in front of him and not the crowded midfield and rushing defenders in front of the guy playing 10. It's also horrible for a guy who's relatively new to the team and has been asked to run the cutter to constantly have that chat from a more experienced player outside him.

In short, ditch the dual play maker system and move Jordie to fullback.

Between Aaron Smith saying it's the tens job to make the calls, this post, and watching DMac charge around like a crab, I think I know where the blame for the crazy'let's go wide whatever' calls in the first half lays 😉

@act-crusader but it is also symptomatic of the halfback. We like his quick delivery but he needs to direct the forwards more. He makes the decision to spin it wide vs organizing the pack.

why won't people from Wellington just pop and go to the game FFS?

I drove 4+ hours down the coast just to watch the fucking Warriors and the Chiefs lose. You can drive 6 to watch the ABs retain the Bledisloe

Kiwis and "distance" crack me up. It's a what, 45 minute flight?

@mariner4life Air NZ are putting on those flights + ticket deal so no excuse if you really want to go.

I drove to Wellington from Hamilton to watch the All Whites play and then drove back the following day.

@mariner4life yeah it's odd, completely different mindset in NZ. Sent that tweet to my mates and they were "fuck that".

£100 for flights and a ticket to the game! Fuck those fluffybunnies.
