    So empty but covered in towels?

    And I’ve now added the American blonde ale, the wheat beer and the Indian pale ale. Colour me impressed and at €1.50 for 500 mls bottles that is more than decent pricing.

    Croatia in general (well at least Rab Island) is leaving a good impression: cheap, clean, beggar-free, friendly, decent beaches (albeit stony rather than sandy).

    Went to Krk about 30 odd years ago (it was in Yugoslavia then). Apart from the beaches being full of germans it was a nice place.

    Rode down the Croatian coast in 2019 - some rather pretty coastline. And Dubrovnik - a pretty sweet Old Town... the setting for at least one scene set in King's Landing in the Throne-Game.
    That whole coast is lovely, until Albania, which is just an instantly depressing backwards shit-hole.

    @antipodean have you tried them?

    Not imagining an 18% beer to be overly palatable!

    No I haven't and because alcohol is taxed by percentage, I'm uninterested in paying $60 for a four pack to find out.

    Tastes like war. Does not taste like beer! So strong it's closer to port than porter!

    I went to the morning session and emerged at about 4ish but pissed at about a 10pm or 11pm level. I’m pleased I didn’t run into my folks who had taken the boys shopping on Lambton Quay.

    I now realise craft beer just gives you an excuse to drink piss 2x the strength of the mass produced piss. I swear it all tasted the same after a while

    100%.

    You need to make the most of the first few and if you go from, say, a 9% beer to a 6% beer the latter tastes like water.

    I exercised self preservation and avoided the 11 and 12% ones. I just avoided disaster, but there were some very ill people the next morning

    I didn't mind that. The key to my salvation was drinking lots of taster size glasses and having some food

    It was a massive weekend in Welly Town with Wellington on a plate as well. Lots of travellers from out of town ready to take an unwanted present home with them

    I’ve had two of those burgers so far. Massively overrated if I’m being honest.
