pretty good 2nd half, certainly better than the first one. Marshall can fuck right off once again. You know nothing, Justin Marshall

Can you say "Our forwards worked their rings out" on TV?

Apparently so.

Good result. Landers needed that. Big few weeks coming up for them and some great games for us to look forward to.

I still think the Brumbies will win their conference. They are limited, but they have a pretty good run home.

Agreed the 2nd half was good rugby.

I have given it some consideration and have decided the first half was in the bottom 5% of any televised rugby I have seen.

I think he was the inside runner anyway but Fekitoa may have cemented his spot for the AB 13 jersey tonight with that one try assist and superb tackling.

Well it won't be for the rest of his passing. Some absolute shockers in there.

Anyone mentioned how fucking retarded the commentators were?

That penalty for truck and trailer in the maul near the end.... was quite possibly THE most obvious truck and trailer I have ever seen in a pro game. NO exaggeration. No joke, it was incredibly blatant. Saw it in real time, and called it. Then the replays show it even more clearly...

And the commentators make out it was controversial, lucky.. or something the Brumbies should be unhappy about.

I wish they would actually learn the rules instead of trying desperately to appear impartial.

Really? I was thinking he played his way out with all the errors he was making.

My favourite commentator (Marshall) moment was in the first half.

Brumbies player comes in from the side and wins the ball.

Ref penalises him. Clearly and very audibly says "Side entry" and /or "from the side" at least twice.

Marshall wanks on about the ruck not having formed.

Well the Clan defence won that. That period on the line preceeding the TMO call on Sio especially.

BTW I wondered whether Fardy had infringed prior to Sio's lunge when he dived over the ruck and cleared a bit of a path. All a moot point now though.

Good mix of maul defence tactics by the Clan.

Some dumb stuff by the home side though.

Can't see them getting too deep into the playoffs.

A brutal game and good effort by them though.

Elliot Dixon. A good player. Very adequate at Super Rugby level. But I'm not convinced. There are other players I'd see in the team before him. Even from the Highlanders. (Any of the three Blues 6/8s, a couple of Chiefs, a Crusader and a couple of Canes would be on my list ahead of him... other than that he's right up there.) Not that he's bad I just don't see him in Black. FGH et al may disagree. And despite their horrendous record of poor selection I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Thought the Highlanders subs all stepped up, obviously bias for Pryor but thought he was good when he came on, stuck into everything on defence although thought he might of got pinged after that turnover following the long period on defence, it got kicked downtown and lead the chase, looked like he got his timing wrong hitting the back tracking pony on the deck.t

Agree Dixon less effective this year, but then so are the highlanders, but he still seems to be getting about, just not having the freedom like last year

Ah Wong had a couple of shocker one on one tackling moments. Only watched the highlights, did he get pulled at half time?

It's a tough comp when a team as good as the Highlanders are coming 4th in their group.
That was a critical win in the scheme of things to create a decent buffer from the last playoffs wildcard spot to those chasing.
On current form you could put any of the top four NZ teams up against anyone else in the world (test teams included) and they would have a good chance of a win I reckon.

Yeah, I think he went off at about 45min mark... even though Pod said it was Coleman. Easy to get those two mixed up.

That's because apparently any penalty against the attacking team in a maul is controversial, even when it's totally obvious...

Good counter point. He did fuck up here and there. I was just impressed at his game winning line break and draw and pass. He would have managed to screw that up somehow in years gone by. Remember when he trialed for the ABs and was ALWAYS taking the wrong run vs pass option.

He was also part of the defensive contribution. Kuridrani is not an easy man to tackle and Malakai shut him down. This was signficant unto itself as without Tomane on the wing the only back line threat they had was their number 13 (for some reason Toomua who is highly capable never chances his arm).

That draw and pass was basic. Should be bread and butter for a centre.
