This is not a strong opposition , this is a pretty good idea of how far the left are divorced from reality. While you might not be enjoying it maybe they need to implode and actually start to ask themselves what they stand for and represent .

Jegga, they really are a fucking shambles at the moment and I can only see this getting worse. This is a problem for us as the Conservative lot are pretty piss-poor too and as blindly arrogant as can be. We need a strong opposition to keep things in check but we've got this bunch of unelectable mongtards.

Problem is, opposition leaders know they can just be attack dogs, and only pull out a policy at election time. Until then, being adversarial is easy because the media love that shit.

They think that, but they dont 'know' that. Mainly as it is bollox in many cases. The NZ opposition have been trying that stunt for 7 years.... hasnt made a blind bit of difference.

As for the media... you are right they do love that shot. Great eexample on TV this morning. Some fuckwit Green MP having a bitch about the PM's lawyer having better access to the PM than a climate change activist.. no shit...

The obvious question to ask this bint ...'And if the Greens got in power.. would you treat the NZ CEO of Greenpeace (and ex Green leader) the same way exactly as Key's Lawyer?'... no, you stupid cow..

Depends on your perspective 🙂 Conspiracy theorists "know" things too - and like a lot of politicians, they're not close friends with reality.

The apparent difference between NZ and Australia right now is that no-one seems to be able to hang onto power very long at the top here. It isn't necessarily a weak opposition, either - just that good opposition leaders seem to be having a hard time once they get the job, then slowly have their reputation eroded because of flip-flopping and general lack of unity in their own party.

What do you reckon it would be here? 4000 posts is 133 pages, i reckon it would be the same. Someone will be called a nazi waaaaay before that, even if the thread was started about a heart warming and positive topic.

statsNazi/

that data is a bit biased tho as it doesn't examine context....the phrase "grammar nazi" is pretty common and would get used in long threads, and picked up in that screening, but isn't actually satisfying the Godwin's Law criteria

Yeah, the guy says that in his blog post:

Let me start this post by noting that I will not attempt to test <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law'>Godwin’s Law, which states that:

As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.

The next step would be to implement sophisticated text mining techniques to identify comments which use Nazi analogies in a way as described by Godwin. Unfortunately due to time constraints and the complexity of this problem, I was not able to try for this blog post.

I admire your work, but you must be new to Weisbrot's writings. The Venezuelan government could be charging around Caracas igniting rogue cats and dogs with kerosene and he would praise it as a bold approach to controlling rabies which the US could learn from, if it weren't such a big bully.

Washington's relationship with Latin America has historically been poor but in Weisbrot's world anyone who occasionally tries to poke a finger in the eye of Washington gets a pass and any gentle criticism of these countries is nothing but neocolonial imperialism.

Snigger. That's a nice comeback next time a Prius owner accuses you of being heartless for not wanting to open the nations door to Muslim ferals.

Prius owners are fucked - the cost of hauling all that lithium around the globe to build a car that is barely electric (and shit) is laughable.
