Stupid from Debreczeni to kick that out. Always try to score within 80 minutes if you have the ball.

Especially if you're going to receive the ball in golden point. The danger is you'll give up the ball in your own half. Territory is hugely important in golden point.

@kiwimurph Yeah, but now it depends on who wins the coin toss who can choose to kick-off.

@stargazer Possibly, but I think they should have checked it. Can they?

That's a harsh penalty, but you force them to kick back to you. An easy way to win the territory battle.

@antipodean I did think about that after I posted. I think I would have preferred to kick for touch and get a lineout in their half

Great scrum from Canterbury. This is their chance.

@kiwimurph Last week, definitely, but I don't think luck had anything to do with their win in this game.

Banks missing a go ahead penalty with 1 to play?

@kiwimurph How's that luck? Banks made a mistake.

Cantabs got lucky that a guy known as a good goal kicker missed a very gettable kick.

@kiwimurph I think southland are one of those teams that drags the opposition down, that said they played pretty well, cantabs created opportunities but made alot of errors under pressure

Stags a tad unlucky but you can’t complain when a kicker of Banks ability misses what under normal circumstances is a very kickable penalty ..
However I do want to give the Stags some credit for their heart and scrambling defence they have shown in this years comp ..it’s the stuff you can’t coach and it kept them in the contest today .
Also I can’t but give a ton of credit to Dale McLeod ., he’s got a very small player base to work with , so for the Stags to be more than competitive against the better teams is a huge compliment to the man .
Dale actually turned down the Canterbury head coach role just before Xmas telling the Canterbury board he had some unfinished business with the Stags , that’s the measure of the man ..
