Do or die for Northlands aspirations of making the faux final series, giving a semblance of success for our coaches

    Team to face BOP tomorrow

Sadly even if we lose the coaches will lay the covid problems card and there will be no change

Don’t understand that team to be honest. Yeah we are on a short turnaround etc, but I’d be inclined to put our best available players in there and get them to throw everything into it. Bizarre move by the coaches. It’s like we’re white flagging already..

Can only think some guys are injured, but we’ll never know that as that stuff never gets shared with the fans.

@machpants they better bloody not make that excuse. They should look in the mirror and blame what’s looking back at them..

yep I said in one of the other threads, covid providing free passes.

Why is Olsen not there? I understand he stayed home the 1st 2 weeks of the L3 great escape, but played on the weekend has he returned home or they saving our captain for the 'friendly' v HB?

Are a few players I really feel for though and I think the coaches have made/allowed some players to regress.

@taniwharugby I was so annoyed after that first Wellington game because we were so far off the pace, and Wellington were nothing special. As the year has progressed, that proved to be true. I don’t know how you show up so poorly prepared for a season? Northland Rugby need to get their collective organisation together otherwise they will have no supporters left. Hard to show up every season as a fan when no progress is being made.

But we do, and you know you will continue to torture yourself too, supporting the most underperformed province in the last 2 decades.

Like an alcoholic. You know it’s bad for you.

Yes point taken. So really I am taking about everyone else….

A title we have truely earned. Gutting in every sense of the word.

Right! That's it! Stop playing for the impossible underdog card. You've been based here long enough for an ambush, and we have Waratahs Supercoach Daryl Gibson in charge. Am not being lulled into a false sense of security here. 🙂

BOP have looked good in so many games without quite getting over the line. We will change that for you. Thank us later.

just in case anyone was wondering what the colours were for, the team will be wearing a special jersey and the colours are their local clubs

Gibson is another coach in love with a 6:2 split on the bench.

What are people's thoughts on Cashmore? He's looked reasonably good for his age in the very little I've seen of him.

On his current trajectory, Daryl Gibson should be coaching Heartland rugby next year.

Not sure - I've always assumed he's Adrian's son, but I haven't seen anything to confirm it

I thought he looked good for the Chiefs U20s and was much improved from when I watched him at 1st XV level for TBC. One for the future.

@Chris-B He is the nephew of Adrian.
