1 moody (De Groot on bench?)
    2 Samisoni
    3 Toughie! Is Ofa available?
4 Retallick (Vaa'i bench cover for lock)
    5 Whitelock
    6 Jacobson or Akira Ioane
7 Papalii yeah I'm guessing they won't risk Cane
8 Sotutu or Jacobson I'm guessing with Ardie on bench (or will they play Ardie at 8 and bench Blackadder?)
    9 Smith (and Weber?)
10 Barrett nope as Chris says, has to be Richie
11 R Ioane nope due to 13 issue, Reece or Foster may pick the pace and power of Bridge
    12 Tupaea yes
13 ALB Has to be Ioane, only alternative is Ennor?
    14 Jordan
    15 J Barrett

I would give Retallick the bench spot. He is not going to be there for next World Cup. Akira has to start, Paps and Savea because they won’t look past him. Not my choice at 8 though. The props are another issue.

But as to preparation I would tell the backs to remember the days the ball did not get past the 2nd five until we learn how to play up the middle. It’s simple. You win games against good teams in the forwards.

    I

I'm also worried about Sam Whitelock. His big engine has a lot of miles.

@nostrildamus Someone had the NZR needs to be firmer with the Crusaders and limit his ganeline with them. Every year, come November, Whitelock is running on fumes.

The thing is, our players rugby intelligence is being exposed. Ruthlessly.

We don't have stronger, faster or more skilled players any more, and we don't have the rugby intelligence. It's really scary looking forward; sustained mediocrity is likely

Very excited about it too! Excited to add another black mark on what was once a pretty shiny record... first loss to Ire, getting spanked by same, first loss to Arg, record loss to Oz, Record loss full stop, pathetic lame draw versus very limited Gatland Lions... the list goes on what the Late Hansen/Foster regime has acheived. Moments they will be proud of their learnings and growth

Yes and it is very noticeable with BBBR not quite at his peak.
I actually wondered if they were deliberately burying Brodie, he was on the ground a lot under bodies and unable to swoop with his big wingspan.

Main learning from this weekend is that the golden age of NZ Rugby is long gone. Big reform is needed to make us more competitive, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

    France by 10+.

Plus Ireland probably now think they can win the majority of games against us.

@nzzp covid has done alot of harm to rugby at all levels in nz, on and off the park.

Next year (and next week) is gonna be some tough times for nz rugby.

Poor coaching and planning at the top, limited super rugby, disrupted npc, messed up season with being away for so long, just a shit show really.

I ain't chicken littling, just think we best sit town, strap in and prepare for a ride...

I don't think the ABs are mediocre, they're just not the clear no 1 team from 2010-2015. The top 8 is now a lot more competitive, anyone can win against anyone on their day.

Another reason the Nations Cup would have been great, play the top teams every year, a good way to improve is to play the best consistently.

Heretic. It's an accepted truth sacking Foster will make us world-beaters in weeks - read it on this inter-web thingy.

    @victor-meldrew
That's a complete strawman. The point of getting Foster out is that he is not good enough. Simple as that. He was picked with zero credentials as a head coach and purely on nepotism. Probably 80% of fans didn't want him to get the job and we are proven right on a near weekly basis. When we rolled Italy, almost everyone knew we still played shockingly bad so this isn't a kneejerk to losing. I am happier losing when we play well than a comfortable win where we play poorly. Because I know rolling second tier team means nothing if the team isn't clinical, when you are clinical you can apply it to a higher level of opposition. I still think we have the players to be playing much better even if this isn't the 2015 vintage.

Foster out is not a magic bullet or panacea, it's just a simple fact that he isn't good enough to be the coach of the number one ranked side.

Yeah, I'm not finding the last two years (any) worse than 1998 or the early 00s or the early 90s.
