How long before Conway is back?

He hopes to be back for the 1st test against the Bangles.

@booboo don’t understand the field for Sommerville. He can’t bowl outside the off stump.

Yeah - seemed like he had a 2-7 field whenever I was watching, which seems to me to be a pretty limited way to attack.

A quick flick through the Indian card - seems like Axar is the only left hander (unless I missed one). Which somewhat limits Somerville's usefulness.

I guess a vague mitigation for leaving out Wags is that neither seamer has taken a wicket on this pitch, either.

Would have been a good game to play a good leg-spinner if we had one.

Wags isnt just anyone! The worse the conditions the better he is

A thing of beauty. What a ball.

Aaargh. How do I copy a video from Twitter?

Edit: I have to keep watching that. Even Fat-Boy Warnie would be proud of that one.

    @crucial It is!

I thought it bowled him off his pad - but, looking closer I don't think it does.

Just watched the Kohli decision and while the decision would have gone the other way had he been given not out originally you also have to say that he put himself in the crosshairs there and it was hardly a howler.

Didn't it used to be tradition that it was benefit of doubt to the batsman? This shows a good example where even with DRS the doubt (or lack of clear evidence) remains.

Going back to umpires call seems weird when you are seeing if the ump made a mistake.

    DRS should be for howlers.

I thought on balance of probabilities it hit pad then bat then pad again. It was very close. Certainly not a howler

I’m genuinely surprised that Jamieson has gone wicketless so far. That’s how much I ( perhaps unfairly ) expect from him. Still six potential victims though I suppose.

Patel sounds like he’s done the business though, not sure how threatening the others will be though. Beers in the fridge and looking forward to a night of test match action !

Do we take new ball? I think so. Let Southee and Jamieson have bowl in tandem with Ajaz.

Let's hope so. 🙂 (It looks like he'll need to - given the rest of the bowling options.)

Yeah - that was excellent. I think with DRS it's a bit more risky padding away balls outside off.

Meanwhile Somers is fielding offers to play for the Ilfurdhi 2nd XI next weekend.

Forget Paddles, he could do a Kumble
