Agree with many of the points in this article:
I don't. I guess it depends on your viewpoint.
I think this show has gone out of it's way (possibly too much) to explain Fett's journey from the previous uncaring mercenary . Being humbled and having to re-earn respect. Realising he relied on his armour to be strong etc. Working out that working for scum only leads to bad places. Being willing to work with others etc.
I get that it has changed his character and that some might prefer the old version but can't see how you would make a show from the old one.
Maybe he was best left alone or as a side interest that appeared from now and then. -

TBF, and movie universe only, for all the hype Boba Fett wasn't really much of a character, he was cool though. No matter what they did here he'd lose some of that mystique.

Exactly, what "character" did they change? He was a guy in suit that was mysterious. That's not a character, it's a poster.

haven't watch the ep yet....intrigued

The article refers to a wider view than the movies (Clone Wars, Novels, Comics)

Novels/Comics (unless recent) won't be canon and he was a kid in Clone Wars. I skimmed the article, was silly.

I also disagree with the article. Was just commenting that the position taken was on a wider view than the movies alone.

The premise.
It only works if they ignore the plot of the series, as Crucial has pointed out, is that his time with the Raiders changed him. He didn't "patiently embed" himself with them, he was wounded and recovering, and grew to respect their culture.
The last episode spelled it clearly, he saw a better way to live and is now trying to build it. Otherwise known as a character arc.
We can quibble with some of the excecution, the mod bikers weren't to my taste for example. But that is just personal taste at the end of the day. Any jarring things like that tend to settle on rewatches, like most of the weird prequel shit.
The show is fine, the character is not "ruined".

That's the crux of the problem. Despite having like 2 seconds of screen time people developed an idea of what type of character he was. I think these expectations were reinforced by the other snippets of info available about him. The guy being portrayed now doesn't match those expectations. That's obviously good or bad depending on if you like or dislike the Boba being presented in this series. I think the article does a decent job of making that point.
Personally it's not how I envisaged him and the series is disappointing in that regard, but if others like it then good luck to them.

I've blocked Crucial so haven't read anything from him but I'm not sure how the premise can be "silly". Ultimately it's about the character being changed and arguing that it isn't for the better. I agree with that. You disagree, fine. But it doesn't make it "silly".

It’s silly to ignore the plot to have to make their point. You can substitute incompetent if you prefer.

Watching again with my boys…..how did Bib Fortuna double cross Boba ?
Was he the "stuffed pig" he was talking about? Was wondering if it was Jabba or Bib. And yes, how was he double crossed? Doesn't everyone thing he's dead.

Exactly what we were wondering……
It is gearing up for some excitement though. Boba is back at full strength and one would imagine some old chums turn up to help out. I reckon the Pikes will try and storm Jabbas Palace and we might get a “Scarface” type shootout where they say hello to Bobas little friends.
Those poor Gamoreans are toast, they’re loyal, strong and tough but don’t seem very bright. Some baddie will off them pretty quick….
Speaking of baddies I hope there’s some kind of leader or tough guy…..killing endless foot soldiers gets boring. It might be Bossk or someone else familiar.

@mn5 my son and I wonder if it’s Emilia Clarke’s character from Solo.
Fuck I hope not…..but then again I can’t stand Emily whatshername.
I hope the droid rat catcher gets more scenes. He was fun.

After the Luke cameo in Mando I think it's a fairly safe bet that one of the OT characters will make an appearance. I believe the money is on Han.
Actually where they might have missed a trick in this series is having flashbacks from various points of his career. Imagine a scene with him and Vader!
