@taniwharugby looks like maybe their hand is forced around return to play protocols. Healthy bench though.

@duluth interesting to have the co-captain on the bench...or maybe they are planning on subbing Cane earlyish, knowing they can bring Webber on?
We're going to have similar situations this year, Fakatava is going to be starting games and at very least going to coming on for smith, worked ok when smith was a CC but will be interesting who takes charge when hes off

That’s an annoyingly shit graphics layout!
As an aside, are we going to put a sweepstake on how many ABs exceed their limit this weekend?

Yeah, good idea to be able to interchange the experience and captaincy.
There are some ABs still missing though which slows down their participation in future matches if they still have to be introduced slowly.
Compared to the Landers that is a team that will have to play like a team (if you get what I mean). That is the Chiefs current style though so may work out OK

I would expect quite a few changes for the next game.
For those who didn't read the full article:
Unavailable for selection:
Anton Lienert-Brown, Aidan Ross, Gideon Wrampling, Kaleb Trask, Mitch Brown, Reuben O’Neill, Simon Parker, Tupou Vaa’iWeird that journeyman Stevenson has been picked over Etene Nanai-Seturo, who started in the SRA final last year, as well as every other important match. Baffling selection from McMillan really.

Can't follow it either. I mean, in the Super Rugby Aotearoa final, ENS had 3 missed tackles (50% success rate), 1 turnover, and two penalties (led the team!).
Can't touch this.

@kiwi_expat He prefers Lowe on the left wing ahead of ENS. Lowe obviously providing centre cover too.

Lowe is a far superior player.
IMO, ENS is lucky he's still playing Super Rugby - this year is absolute make or break for him.

Stevenson is 3 years older than ENS, is entering his 7th super season and hasn't done anything of note.
He's a massive liability on defence, lacks physicality & more often than not makes poor decisions on attack.

I agree with all of that but ENS is heading down the same path. I agree that he needs to take any chance he gets and grab it this season.

Stevenson is rocks/diamonds, no doubt, but all of those things can be said of ENS, who was meant to be a world beater.
And, given that ENS makes about 50% of his tackles, I don't think banging on about Stevenson's defence is the way to argue for ENS.
Finally, Stevenson has a useful boot.
But, we are weak in the outsides. No doubt about it.
